if you think it disappointing being a nonresident and not drawing what used to be a guaranteed tag, try being a resident and not drawing the same tag. i probably spend more on app fees every year than most NR's and rarely draw anything.

the 10% rule has been in place for a long time. I'd love to feel sorry for nonresidents but i cannot. G&F has decimated a lot of our deer herds by over promotion of OTC archery hunts for nonresidents. You can always use that license you bought by hunting OTC archery deer while it is still possible.

We don’t. It is a detriment to residents and wildlife populations. G&F stuffs their pockets. I’d like to see an actual breakdown of money spent on conservation and habitat improvement. Project to project cost. One line item with a dollar sign doesn’t show anything. I would like to see “X-Tank refill - $15,000, new drinker in Kofa’s - $62,000, etc.”

Think about this next time you all decide to “donate” money to the g&f…. It IS NOT going where you think it is. I’ve known about it for several years and it did not surprise me one bit. Paying nonresidents to fu€k up hunting for the residents. G&F only cares about one thing…$$$$. They could care less about conservation. This state becomes less and less desirable to live in every day.

If it was me personally, I would not pack in to the ranch during a hunt. It is a cool spot but there are a lot of other people that do the same thing. It sucks to pack in 7 or so miles only to deal with other hunters.

Wonder how many cards got rejected because their credit limit was set to a lower number. We'll never know but I would bet the number is pretty high.

We went to pagosa a few weeks ago and rented a cabin. 4 private lakes with about 5 minutes of us. Caught a ton of fish

I'd give greer a look. lots of fishing around there. some of the rentals back up to the little colorado or have private pond access.

It is no coincidence that the reservations don’t get these massive fires and also the fires all but stop when they hit the rez boundary. They log. When i drove through hilltop several weeks ago i could not believe how much better it looked than state land

There are a couple of packers in Alpine that would be able to help you out. The outfitters up there are pretty bogged down during those hunts so i doubt you’ll have much luck getting them to pack something out for you. Next time you go up there to scout, poke around Alpine. I can’t remember exactly but there are several people there that pack. I think the has station has fliers on the wall.

I've got a few that could handle it now. I had a big spinning rod with i think 30lb test on it when i got spooled.

I’m gonna sink a 5lb carp at the dam one of these days to find out. I tied into something big there about 15 years ago. Spooled me before i could get it stopped.

I thought a muley buck was the next target at usery about 15 years ago. Good thing he moved and we realized it was alive and not a target

I don’t love the idea of it but it will definitely help with the lack of harvest reporting we have here.
