    Breaking a new one in?

what risks are involved in "rushing" this process? as long as you don't blast enough rounds back to back to overheat and shoot out the barrel, what risks are involved in not cleaning after every shot? i recently made a big purchase on a LR rifle. i shot about 10 rounds and cleaned it well. i'm on about shot 50 after the initial cleaning and my groups keep getting better every trip to the range (.3 MOA last trip)

    Breaking a new one in?

More and more bench rest shooters are saying forget everything you've ever heard about barrel break in and bore cleaning. Just shoot it and let the barrel cool between groups. Clean it occasionally

    Wtb long range gun/rifle

thus the reason for so many wounded animals anymore. Every Tom, Dick and Harry with a turret on their scope thinks they are Chris Kyle anymore

    vortex bino case?

these are the bino harnesses you guys are seeing. they put vortex patches on the front because FHF is not a sponsor. i don't know if vortex is making one or not, but i am positive these are what you have been seeing on TV and magazines. http://fhfgear.com/hunting/bino-harness/

    vortex bino case?

You are probably referring to the bino pack made by FHF gear. People on the oudoor shows put vortex patches on them. They are great bino cases
  7. If we can't talk about politics on this site, why should anyone be able to discuss religion? Don't start pointing the non believer finger at me either, because that is not the case. Why not post a short story and a pic or two? I can also assure you that i would gladly repeat anything i type on this site to someone's face.
  8. Man, with the noise coming out of all the bible thumping i'm not sure how that deer didn't spook?

    Unit 19

Powell springs has a pretty nice campground. Should be plenty of places around there to shoot a little bit

    the way it should be

leaving elk lay over night is becoming more and more prevalent, especially in units like 27. I think people do it more and more often intentionally so they don't have to pack out so much meat. makes me sick. i have literally nearly hospitalized myself more than a time or two hauling elk out of the nasty with more weight on my back than i care to mention

    the way it should be

i don't think the point of the OP was to start a debate on whether or not to leave a wounded animal over night. It was about a couple guys (and gals) working their tail off through the night to get a bull out of a canyon when a lot of people would have just come back in the morning to pack it out and risk losing some meat to spoilage.
  17. Weird. Go to azgfd.gov. Great place to start

    6A newbie

Money and time spent in the field is money and time well spent, not wasted. Every hunt or trip to the woods is invaluable to learning to be a good and successful hunter. A lot of people (myself included) would have loved to get an elk tag this year, and wouldn't be "sad and depressed" if we didn't punch a tag. Pick your chin up, pull up your pants and take that slap that mother nature delivered on the chin with a grin.

That's why it's called hunting and not killing. Take what you learned and put it to use next time.

    Best ballistic app

What ballistic phone apps are you all using? Any of them that stand out above the rest? I have used the "Bullet Flight" app for years, but it seems to be getting outdated and behind the times.
