IR cameras are pretty much undetectable. Hang them high off the ground. Always hang mine high and never lose any. I get a few pictures of people and they never notice them. Don't place them on water holes

This looks like a job for Str8Shot. Can't wait for his $.02

Things your huntin buddies do that drive you nuts : )

When your hunting buddy buys a new chair to sit in next to you in a blind and it makes more noise than Subway Jared will in prison. On opening morning of 2015 archery deer -
your palm tree camo is pretty good but, that saguaro will only fool paul bunyon haha, yeah the saguaro's look pretty good. some look really good, so natural that most people have no idea they are a cell tower. we build a lot of the palms and pines. they are a real PIA. hate dealing with them and they do not fool anyone

My initial thoughts were the biggest goat i'v ever seen. After looking at a lot of pictures of it, it really isn't very heavy. Really weak bases. Still a GIANT by all means, but i think 90-92" is where it will end up. probably closer to the lower number. one of the prettier bucks i have ever seen though, i'm a sucker for prongs

i build cell phone towers for a living and i can tell you that Nutrioso is one of the worst black holes in the state for cell coverage. there is not one provider in that area. verizon or Cell One is your best bet in that area, but Cell One is a VERY small company that provides marginal at best coverage to some remote corners of the state (white mountains, Navajo Res). Alpine has great reception and I happen to know the guy that built the tower there . there are not many options at all to get coverage there and i REALLY doubt that any kind of signal amplifier will help in that particular area. amplifiers work pretty well when there is some signal or intermittent signal in an area, but there is basically zero trace of any kind of signal there. They help boost and "stabilize" the signal. the tower in Nutrioso is at the fire station and does not have any cell equipment on it. i can assure you of that. i have heard rumor that they are going to build a site there, but who knows. cell sites are all connected either by fiber or a hard line, or by microwaves. they all "talk" to each other.

that buck will beat your 75" goal. if his right prong matches his left, he might be quite a bit over that. really pretty buck

there area a lot of units open in december for OTC archery deer. those units suggested do not hold the best populations of deer in the units that are open for that hunt. is mule deer a must? Arizona offers coues deer in the same hunt and they are a lot more unique trophy because there are not many places in the world that you can hunt them. i have not spent a lot of time in either of the mentioned units, but know they are pretty tough units

only archery bull was at first light. two rifle bulls, one at first light, one at last light

that buck has a LOT of growing to do. i would be willing to bet money that he ends up over 100". looks like he's going to have 4 typical points on the left and a couple cheaters as well. good frame, great eyeguards.

i would venture to say that MANY of the top guides/outfitters were quietly excited about the SFW deal but opted to stay quiet about it as to not tarnish their reputation. Doyal Moss was a big supporter of the bill as well. Anyone know what outfit branched off of Mossback? hmmmm
-
most people on this forum's head's would spin if they knew who some of the people leading the charge for the SFW ordeal were

the best thing to do is make sure your blind is shaded very well. blind in direct sunlight=long day. being shady also conceals your movement a lot more

good to know. i use industrial metal supply quite a bit at work, just never thought about them making gongs. might have to slip one in on my next PO number

i'm planning on logging about 40 hours in a ground blind this weekend. could not be happier

i ordered an 18" x 1/2" AR500 plate off ebay for $72. free shipping. comes from a company called TEMCO (tower electric motor company). that's about half of what everyone else is asking. thanks for the heads up HuntHarder

be aggressive. B-E aggressive. if the elk are call shy, which most are, i use what i call run and gun. get the wind in your face and chase bugles. calling them in is fun, but you might spend hours methodically calling and stalking one bull. if you are aggressive, sure you'll blow bulls out a LOT, but you have so many more chances. when i hunt them, i am literally running most of the day. if you are targeting one specific bull, you need to slow down and be a little more methodical, but if you are just looking for a lot of opportunity, do not be afraid of being too aggressive. worry about busting cows more than the bulls. Bulls that time of year really let their guard down more than the cows. i would say i get busted by a cow, not the bull 80% of the time. An elk's nose is their most important tool. far and away more important than their eyes or ears

See his tips? The bulbs on the ends are almost gone. That bull is just about done there. He's a young bull, most likely 3 years old i would guess
-
He was almost done there it looks like. 310-320 finished?
-
Looks like it was. Should be good now
-
Doesn't look like he has 1/2" plates?
-
Elk can go for 30k plus from what i have heard.
-
Keep an eye on the bull in the next-to-last pic. Gonna be a monster some day

Prepare for the CWT lawyer again on this post.

Looks like 4 muleys and a whitetail. Doesn't look like the coues subspecies
