usually easier for youth hunters to target mule deer. there are some great bucks of both species to be had in 23 though.

bump for some great glass!

What a beautiful buck. He looks like he's high?

If the camera stays inthe shade most of the day, the sun won't have muh effect on anything. You could also try to make some sort of shade that goes over lense. This can help

If they were feral cattle or pigs, nobody would care. Feral animals cause a lot of damage, not matter the species.

someone put this thread down. it was resurrected from the dead

Unit 23 Bear "who is going?"
GreyGhost85 replied to rcdinaz's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
It is hard to determine a 100lb sow and a 100lb boar, yes. Some people do shoot really big sows occasionally, i understand. It is not hard to tell an 80lb bear from a 200+lb bear though. I just get tired of people shooting bears you couldn't make a hat out of -
Best way to find seating depth of the lands
GreyGhost85 replied to couesfreak23's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Yup. Need to measure to ogive. I take a blown out brass and just barely bump it with your resizing die. Just barely. Stuff a bullet in the case with your hand (it should fit pretty tight) and cycle the round. It'll push the bullet back to the lands. Measure to ogive -
Bartlett has a couple of pretty nice "beaches" to camp on, on the river end

7mm Mag Tikka t3 Load Data?
GreyGhost85 replied to rossislider's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
how close are you loading them to the lands? start with .040 off and find the best powder charge, then adjust the seating depth. i know with a lot of rifles, the magazines won't fit bergers loaded close to the lands -
Unit 23 Bear "who is going?"
GreyGhost85 replied to rcdinaz's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
i'm sure with the crop of pears this year, it's safe to say that the 22/23 hunts will close after the first weekend because of people shooting the first 80lb sow they see. i wish G&F would make people wait a couple years to bear hunt again if they shoot a sow. probably wouldn't change much, but might make people look a little harder at all those cubs that get shot the first couple of days -
nice. those bucks are right on track. should be pretty much done growing in a couple weeks.

you could always nut up and dive into clear creek canyon

no, season won't close 'till the following wednesday regardless if there are 2 or 10 sows killed. -

I bet they'll be in the pears this year. Should be a good crop -
I've got bucks on the same camera for 4 years. The biggest ones always turn into ghosts around mid august.

Pretty sure these don't fit on kaibabs

Might not be bad for archery, but he won't score very well at all. Might hit 70" tops
