Pics added Ford F250 Diesel Excellent Condition
GreyGhost85 replied to clintb's topic in Classified Ads
i was thinking it was a rare and elusive 2003 7.3 with those miles, then realized it wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes on here -
Don't worry Murphy, he gets his hackles up every time anyone says anything to/about his wife, no matter the context.
-
not positive. somewhere around upper eagle/honeymoon area to the east i imagine.
-
they seem to really hunker down in bad weather. iv'e seen them in some bad snowstorms with over 2" of snow on their backs. they always stand there looking like statues, not moving at all
-
i know of one horn that was found a few years ago that is a 6 point and scores right at 200". weighs a little over 20lbs
-
i saw the set off that bull from last year. you would think when one side that heavy fell off the other one would have to be really close. give'r H#ll Willy.
-
it sounds like you might be developing a case of target panic, even though that usually only happens to veteran archers. if you shoot consistently low and left now, maybe something got bumped on your bow. have you tried adjusting your sight?
-
that's a really tough hunt. in the event of taking a cow, you have to get it out of there quick! i believe the hunt is in august and temps are usually around 90 degrees
-
run and gun type here as well. i don't seem to have too much difficulty getting within range of bulls. just haul @$$ and keep listening for their bugles. get withintheir "bubble", hunker down and let them make a mistake. i'll call to locate on quiet days, other than that, i only call when i stop the bull

It would cost a lot of dignity and self respect. haha

Hunting with an order of protection - Questions/Thoughts needed
GreyGhost85 replied to naturegirl's topic in The Campfire
Are you looking for legal advice on what to do? It seems like you are not afraid of bumping in to the man, nor are you "afraid" of him so to speak. Justt go about your business and like many people have stated, if you do bump into each other, go your separate ways. Depending on how far the distance of the order of protection is, only 500' would mean still being able to nearly hunt on top of each other without really breaking the law. It seems to me that you want to take matters to "run him out" of the areas you want to hunt and are testing the waters based on the opinion of people on this forum. Please take no offense to my observation or opinion, as none was intended, I am just a bit confused as to what is being asked, as I' m sure some others are as well. -

anyone tried this powder yet? i picked some up to hopefully use in my 338 lapua. It's supposed to perform very similar to H1000 and Retumbo. i can't find much information about it and was just wondering if anyone has used any, and how did they like it.

i see giant muleys and whitetail every year hunting antelope out there. finally talked my colorado connection into getting me land owner access to hunt deer without costing an arm and a leg. should be able to draw no problem. that will get me over my arizona draw blues
-
got put in last week for deer. pretty excited about it. looks like draw results will be out may 29th
-
my apologies. i think i remember reading that other topic. it's hard to figure out what is sarcasm and not on this site sometimes

so, now not only do us guys under 40 not have a say, but now we must be "premier members" to have a say? what a joke. since making thousands of posts on this website makes you the foremost authority on hunting and any related issue. unbelievable
-
if it's all it's cracked up to be, it should be great powder. look forward to trying it out. best thing about it is you can find it because everyone is afraid to waste money on an untested powder. i'll be the guinea pig i guess

if you think G&F is managing our elk herd for anything other than selling tags you are wrong. our elk heard is perhaps Arizona's most valuable resource, aside from copper. The slaughter that occurs in post-burn units is unbelievable. sure there are still big bulls in 1/3c/27, but not like there should be. people are getting better at hunting is the reason for a lot of it, but a lot of it is also too many late bull tags. in the winter, it is a fact that elk move into burn areas to find feed. this makes them unbelievably vulnerable to hunters. when a burn rips through, the elk are more visible, which makes G&F think there are more of them, so they up the tags. it destroyed 3c and is doing the same to unit 1 and 27 as we speak. i am only 29, but have probably been on more hunts in more units than most people out there. i also hunt out of state every year, so i have a pretty good idea on animal quality in other states. a big reason there are big animals is genetics. the reservations manage their animals pretty good and if you look at the units that have the biggest bulls, they border the res. those old gene pools they have on the res give big animals a chance to pass their big genes. those genes bleed over into surrounding areas. it comes down to money in AZ, plain and simple. they love being the cover boy for big elk because it sells tags. big elk does not have much to do at all with the G&F

bonecollector777, maybe since we haven't been hunting for 50 years, we shouldn't have an opinion. this idea gets thrown around on this forum all the time. It's really starting starting to wear me out.
-
being a kiss @$$ isn't going to make it easier to get tags
-
the new vulture 15x56 by vortex is very similar quality, for about the same price or maybe less
-
some people have luck by hunting the same way
-
your friend should have doubled his asking price. they woulda sold just as fast. those are the B model. hard to come by
