ahhhhh... the ol' Arizona feral hog debate. this topic seems to come around about once a year. there are very few scattered around through AZ. i took one about 5 years ago, but was a guided type operation near Mammoth. i don't believe they offer hunts anymore. heard there are a few around camp verde, some on the strip, and maybe a few down south

I'm surprised you were able to stand the company of a Miller for long enough to get an elk. j/k. Chase is good people. congrats on the bull

i agree with this. it turns "me time" into "we time". it's good to get the girls out there, but i made this mistake once. you spend more time chasing arrows and trying to figure out why they can't shoot consistent groups than you spend trying to hone your own skills. maybe I'm selfish, but just my $.02

Reloading package, how much?
GreyGhost85 replied to Arrowsniper's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
the good ol' RCBS kit is pretty good as well to get you started. you can spend as little as about $500 to get started and work your way into the higher priced, nicer accessories that make reloading a little nicer. everyone likes to reload a certain way, then build upon how they like to reload and what brands they prefer. RCBS, Lyman, Lee and Hornady all make pretty good, reasonably priced kits that will get your foot in the door. one common misconception is people picking up reloading to save money. it will take a LOT of reloading before you actually save money. my rifle rounds still cost me over $2.00 a round to reload. i could buy a box of core lokt's for a little more than half that price. reload because you want better performing rounds and because it's something you enjoy doing, rather than trying to save money at it -
People on here are not usually too excited to give away any advice as to where to hunt, especially when it is post number one. the montana mountain/rogers trough area gets POUNDED 365 days a year, whether by hunters or just people out riding around. check azgfd.com

Please elaborate on this comment... Lol... this could be taken so many ways other than what i'm sure was intended. lol -
....this one won't last long. absolutely fool-proof sight. love mine. had an arrow blow up in my X force earlier this year, the back half of the arrow went through the site window. the only damage done, to the sight at least, was the white sticker around the window came off. bow blew up and had to have it totally rebuilt

Product Review - Made in China Bino Adapter
GreyGhost85 replied to Norteno's topic in Optics and tripods
I'm sure the vortex adapter is made overseas as well. all of their products are. looks like a fool proof, simple product that saves money and works -
I've hunted 19a quite a bit and have seen a good number of whitetail. sounds like someone is so adament that there aren't enough whitetail to hunt in this unit, in hopes that it will preserve a honey hole of his own? whitetail have been taken in the Mingus area for MANY years. someone killed a monster (i believe 130" type) there in like the 60's. the coues there are not "new" by any means. the area just won't ever support a huge population of them. there are fair numbers in certain pockets of the unit

Does anyone have any experience with these? I am an avid Halon fan, like a lot of us are. I picked up one of these today for about the same price as the havalon, and at first glance, i am impressed. much sturdier than a havalon, and the blade change system is a lot better. i have no problem changing the blades on my Havalon, but this style seems much safer. has anyone used one in the field? if so, what do you think of it?

I'm good friends with kevin. he is a helluva guy. helped me out more than once, and i'm glad he killed himself a great bull. He works his butt off for everyone else that has tags, good to see a guy get rewarded

look on page 85 of the deer regs. if it was a true sparrow, they are legal to shoot, but not in the M units, which i imagine he was in. sounds like a sorry citation. i have a friend that got his license pulled for 3 years for shooting a dove out of season. hope your buddy's case doesn't go the same way. make sure that he lets them know how remorseful he is, while in court. that's usualy what they want is for the person to know what they did was wrong, and that they are sorry for what they did. my friend did not show remorse or apologize for his actions is why he got his pulled. Jul 1, 2014 - Jun 30, 2015 (1,6,9,10,14,15,16,17, 18,21,22,26,27) Open areas Statewide (excluding National Wildlife Refuges, Units 11M, 25M, 26M, and 38M and private property within municipal boundaries except in Units 1, 2A, 2B, 2C, 3A, 3B, 3C, 4A, 4B, and 27) House (English) sparrow and European starling

packing out animals in pieces is a realtively new process. back in the day, huners almost always drug their deer out of the field whole. yes you do have your right to express an opinion because you do put money back into the system, however, maybe get a few more harvests and experience about hunting in general before telling people that have MUCH more experience than you how they should handle their business. you are a product of very modern hunting processes, and there is nothing wrong with that, but many of us that are multi generation die hard hunters that might conduct their business different than you, and who are you to tell us that we are doing things wrong and need to go back through hunter ed? hunter ed didn't teach me much other than how to get an orange card that lets me hunt in other states every year. i learned everything i know by being taken hunting from the time i could walk by people that have been been hunting since they could walk and so on and so forth. my family also ran a butcher shop for years. since i have been on this earth i have eaten 10 times more game meat than processed food. to say that my kills are taken care of properly and treated with respect is a tremendous understatement. anti hunters are going to be upset with hunters no matter what we do. i am not going to hide or be ashamed that i am a hunter, just so i don't upset an anti. hunting is here to stay, no matter how many hippies we piss off -

so what is a person supposed to do if they dont have the luxury of having their kill hidden deep inside their truck? i have many times hauled out animals that are exposed in my vehicle, being on top of gear. what about a bull elk loaded into the back of a toyota? done that many times. should i take i hunter ed class because non-hunters saw my harvest? that was a ridiculoous comment. as long as the animal is being processed and taken care of, who cares if it is strapped to the top of a jeep? i hunt in a tacoma with a camper shell, and have been LUCKY enough to take a couple elk who's heads will not fit in the back. guess where they get strapped for the ride out? right on top of the camper shell. should i take hunter ed again so as to ensure i don't commit this horrible crime once again? we are all hunters. hunters kill things. non-hunters don't like seeing it. big deal. maybe if i take hunter ed 10 more times it will finally break my nasty habit -

i work in the cell tower industry, and deal with similar shelters every day. these things are built basically bomb proof. i have seen people turn them into pretty neat guest rooms. bump for a neat item -
you can usually catch quite a few right there through greer. they are usually really small though. just drift small pieces of worm or salmon eggs with a very small single hook and no weight, under overhanging limbs, and where the water swirls

What Have You Killed With A 10mm?
GreyGhost85 replied to GlockMan's topic in Handgun Hunting for Coues Deer
Razor Dobbs is an idiot and gives hunter a bad name by acting like such a jack@$$ all the time. just because Razor Dobbs shot a farm elkover a waterhole with a 10mm doesn't mean it is an ethical or wise choice to hunt with. Sure, it will kill game, but anyhting that that idiot does is good reason to do the exact opposite -
how about a trade? i've got a slightly used parachute and a bitchin pellet gun. i'll throw them both in if you sweeten the pot with a little cash on your end
