115 5/8 -
hey RR i shoot 125 grain nosler partitions out of my .264 and getting some unbelievable accuracy...about 3/8 inch at a hundred yards... and thats still flyin probably 3500 fps

this spot is not mine, dont get that mixed up, i dont know where or even what unit it is...i know a guy who was explaining a similar situation and i put two and two together....for all i know this salt lick could be anywhere in the state... i dont even know if we are talking about the same place...whether i know who put this salt there or not, does not change the way i would feel about this instance, i wasnt trying to start an argument over this, just giving my two cents...
-
i agree 100% with you here...salt licks are man made and i believe that the person that has put in the time and effort of building/maintaining them has the right to hunt them...water holes are a different story because they are naturally occurring therefore noboady has so called "rights" to hunt them...and fourpoint, maybe i shouldnt have added the phrase "claimed territory" because you are right, there is no such thing as that on public land, but put yourself in the other man's shoes and i think you would feel the same way
-
i have a real good feeling that i know whos "spot" this is...anything to do with a business card inside your trail camera?? but anyways, if he made the salt lick, i would agree that it is calaimed territory

so with all the talk about ballistic coefficient lately and how it is crucial to finding you rifles true accuracy, i was wondering how to calculate it?? how do you find out what the B.C. of your bullet is?? most websites and ballistic tables i look at explain it but it never makes much sense...thanks..
-
thanks for the help...was able to find find my bullets B.C. on the Nosler website...now i can mess around with the ballistics calculators.....and the reason i was askning is because i am trying to get 800 yard accuracy out of my rifle....of course i plan on practincing at these ranges, but i figure i may able to save a little time and ammo, with having somewhere to start

i talked a buddy of mine who is not much of a hunter at all into puting in for elk telling him that if he got drawn i'd take him....bad move... he got a unit 19A late bull tag..probably the only unit in Arizona that i am not at all familliar with... so if anyone has ANY info at all on where i might find elk shoot me a PM i'd really appreciate it... maybe even swap for some info on a different unit?? i know where 19A is and have archery deer hunted there a tiny bit but that's about it...thanks for the help....

i believe on the San Cralos Res. you can buy juniors only cow tags for around $500.....might be cheaper and easier then looking out-of-state

nada dang thing for year number eight on elk
-
im gonna say 85 on the coues sue to lack of eyeguards...and on the bull 345+- gross and 330 net probably
-
that elk probably died because he saw your smelly @$$ walkin up to him and fainted, not beacuse of a broken pedicle!!
-
think im gonna buy a new rifle, it's a Remington model 700 Sendero with an H.S. Precision stock and barrel shooting a .264 winchester mag... anyone ever had any experience with H.S. Precision products? thoughts and opinions greatly appreciated....

i drive a 2000 tacoma and put a 3.5 inch LIFT kit on it without really altering the factory suspension at all (put on new shocks in the process just due to the fact that the old ones were worn out). this allowed me to run 33x12.50x16.5's wihtout much trouble at all... my advice would be to raise the hieght of your vehicle, but be sensible about it and not go overboard...

heres a little muley buck i took 6 or so years ago.... smallest buck (body wise) ive ever seen..... talk about genetics! really wish ida let this one live!
-
man, cant go wrong with the ballistics of a .264... thats what i shoot.. it pushes a 100 grain hornady at 3750-3800 fps...
-
i believe this shed came from Mexico... its been floatin around my house for as long as i can remember. it scores about 53.5" with 8 or 10 inches missing... been either broken or maybe burned off? thats a Quarter...just for comparison
-
Truly unbelievable...any one of those bucks is a buck of TWO lifetimes!
-
antlerdog, the one in my thumbnail is a typical 5 point, with a big eyeguard (6 points total) scores right at 55"...found in a rugged part of AZ with very few coues deer......
-
It's kindof hard to tell in this pic, but is that the world record typical elk? i could be wrong, just looks real similar
-
6 400+ inch bulls runnin together? doubt it... that'd be like seein 6 120 coues runnin together! its gotta be another work of King's Outdoor World... sweet pic though!
