i believe this shed came from Mexico... its been floatin around my house for as long as i can remember. it scores about 53.5" with 8 or 10 inches missing... been either broken or maybe burned off? thats a Quarter...just for comparison
-
Truly unbelievable...any one of those bucks is a buck of TWO lifetimes!
-
antlerdog, the one in my thumbnail is a typical 5 point, with a big eyeguard (6 points total) scores right at 55"...found in a rugged part of AZ with very few coues deer......
-
It's kindof hard to tell in this pic, but is that the world record typical elk? i could be wrong, just looks real similar
-
6 400+ inch bulls runnin together? doubt it... that'd be like seein 6 120 coues runnin together! its gotta be another work of King's Outdoor World... sweet pic though!

ya done the whole hittin my other arrows thing a buncha times, get sick of shootin off my nocks eventually......even robin-hooded about 4 times...thats a pretty good group for someone who is new to the sport, however....
-
coueshunter, i greatly appreciate the advice, i love the broadheads but considered switching because of that problem....and no, i dont shoot the HIT arrows, heard lots of good about them, but also some negatives, i'll just stick with my radial X-weaves, i drove the arrow in my last couse straight through a shoulder-blade and a rib, and zero damage to the arrow, and the one blade head still had great penetration and shot a leg clean off of my pig (hit him in the shin) with zero damage to the arrow. they are like shooting a titanium rod!

i shoot rocket ultimate steel 75's...couldnt be happier with accuracy, shoot exactly the same as field points....shot a javi and a coues with them, both times two blades were missing after the shot....both good shots, so the aniamals did'nt go very far, but the blades falling off has me a bit concerned.....
-
just spoke with a lady from azgfd... she was NOT at all polite or helpfull. she said no later than the 28th and hung up!

Rocket Ultimate Steel... Super tough, thick blades, very sharp, great accuracy (should nearly identicle to field points) and shoot great downrange (50+).......
-
i shoot 75 grain rocket ultimate steel... dont need to tune them, they fly the exact same as my field points, killed a pig this year at 60+ yards with one and it passed completely through... thats what i recommend

Antler King Coues Program on Mens Channel
GreyGhost85 replied to jamaro's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
yeah, i saw it. it bugged me two. some flat-lander from back east acted like it was nothing special, man would i have loved to be in his shoes. he said he had never even seen a coues deer before that one. -
Gnoto, sounds like your shootin the wrong carbons. i shot at a rabbit with one of my new PSE Radial X Weaves this weekend, missed, hit a boulder dead on and my arrow was just fine. been shootin carbons for 3 yrs. now and i'll never go back to broomsticks.

Hey Josh, what unit did that huge 2 point come from? just curious, cause i saw one about a month ago in 24b that was somethin like that. same genes?

i shoot a ruger m77 featherweight .270 with a VXII on it. i also shoot 100 grn hornady handloads i havent shot anything with them yet, but i bet they are coues poison at 3400 fps. ill get to test them this year.
-
i shoot a pse fireflight 33ac. its a fairly cheap bow that i added a $100 sight and a $100 rest to and added a TON of limbsavers to (16 to be exact) and at only 33 inches in length and feather weight i am more than pleased with its silence, speed (305+ fps) and accuracy. my vote would go to PSE.

hey GMM, its me, that kid bouncin around in a purple toyota all weekend. on my way out on monday we decided to drive up the road just for good measures, and i spotted two deer grazing, i put my binos on them and it appeared to be two does, but i got out and looked a little closer and one grew little spikes. we stalked to within twelve yards and my friend took the shot and missed by about 5 feet! he trotted off and stopped a little ways down the canyon and this time we got within 25 yards, and he hit him perfectly, he only ran maybe 40 yards. its a little dinky buck, but it was his first deer, and it was a coues with a bow, not a bad feat.

quit wasting time and thought on this buster joker, guys. he's probaly sittin' nekked fondling himself while he reads and writes this stuff. quit replying and he'll go back to the kiddy porn sites he usually surfs. i hear some guys saying to support the g&f and the commission and stuff. who do you think got us here? think real hard. when was the last time they did anything for resident hunters of Az? i can't remember even one. all i've seen is take from us give to somebody else. the took away trapping. actually campaigned with all the bleeding hearts to have it outlawed. their big reason was they didn't want to have to enforce it. in other words, they were too lazy and we afraid of offending someone. look what has happened to the coyote population since then. and look at it's effect on the deer, pronghorn and small game population. when was the last time you saw a jackrabbit? remember a few years back when some guys were gonna have an "extreme' varmint calling contest? i thought they were a little far out there in their advertisements, but i dang sure signed up. looked like fun to me. a few folks got "offended" and shroufe and his buddys stepped in and stopped it. then they outlawed future contests. then it was contested and they lost in the state supreme court. so then they came back with another set of rules on contests. seems the first one would have even outlawed fishing derbys and big buck contests. ok, now how much money was wasted on thsi effort? doesn't take long to blow a million bucks when lawyers are involved. then the next big glaring deal i remember is the wolves. first off, they ain't wolves. mexican grey wolves are extinct and have been for 40 years. they found a few that were crossed with dogs and bred up a bunch of the kurs and turned em loose. this is the truth guys. everyone of em have dog dna. and shroufe and his treehugger staff jumped right in and helped the whole thing all along. and mark my words. the wolf/dog crosses will be the elimnation of hunting in unit 27 and unit 1. doesn't take long with a calculator to see that the numbers they want in the woods will not allow for hunters and wolves. get the data and read it. there aren't enough deer and elk in those units to support the designated number of wolves desired. i've maintained since it's inception that the only reason for the wolf program is to elimnate hunting. then we got the "callifornia" condors? huh? they said that there have been prehistoric condor bones found in arizona so they musta been here once. just not california condors. anyway, just another sore spot. the state is being overrun by non-native species and they stand by and watch. from crayfish to rocky mountain bighorns. where i like to hunt deer i'll see 40 to 50 bighorn rams each season. rams. who knows how many ewes. last year we saw 2 bucks. they let out 4 bighorn permits. wonder where their loyalty lies? not with native species here. now we have this uso crap. from what i can tell, the state didn't fight this any harder than sorority girls in a pillow fight. shroufe is worried about buttkissin' a liberal governor, not about standing up for the guys that pay the bills. if you say get behind this guy, you're always gonna be behind. get in front of this jackass. get rid of him. this is just stuff i can think of off the top of my head. there is a clear pattern here. whenever there is any controvery shroufe's answer is to take away from the guys that pay the bills. can shroufe for a start and go from there. either that or get to where you like to bend over frontwards. Lark Hubbard.

personally, i feel that resident Az. hunters have given up enough and it's time to take some real action. what good does it do to support a director that doesn't support us? and shroufe doesn't. he backs down to anyone who is "offended". get rid of shroufe, get rid of the present commissioners and go from there. if shroufe and his staff were tough negotiators this would have been reconciled long ago and we'd all be either planning on our fall Az. hunts or ticked off because we didn't get drawn. not one tag, men. not one tag. and Arizona for Arizonans. don't know how this will work. using the kid's computer at home. anyway, just what we need, a hoax. whatta ya wanna bet it's some nerd hugger hacker? i still think they should have told the judge, not asked him. force the issue. force uso to negotiate. force everything. this is a whole dang state we're talking about, who's leaders are buttkissin' a couple low lifes from another state. it's time to grow a pair shrouf. fight or get out. what are they gonna do, send in the national guard? this is a state. we are a stand alone government. we don't have to ask the feds what to do. folks fight em all the time. i'm so dissapointed in the g&f right now that there ain't words for it. i've tried to be their friend, but no more. i really hope there are some wardens that cruise this site and i hope they read every word i write, because i'm serious. this shouldn't have ever gotten to this point. we're being represented by the weakest bunch of burro-crats i've ever seen. everyone whips em. they never fight. roll over and play dead. buncha stinkin' possums. if we lose one tag, it's too many. myself, i wish they'd have told the judge to go to heck and if he didn't like it, then cancel all draw hunts for the rest of the year. give the wildlife and the habitat a break. hunt the heck out of new mex and colorado where you can buy tags over the counter and let Arizona heal up. if you know you're gonna lose something, then fight like heck to save what you can. don't start beggin' now you buncha pansies. one other thing, thanks a lot to Amanda for letting us blow off a little steam and not nuking the thread. later, Lark Hubbard.
