GreyGhost85 replied to CatfishKev's topic in The Campfire
Had it in November. Was just telling my GF tonight how i still can’t smell worth a sh!t. -
Pretty cool. I was watching that pistol. I could tell it was a python barrel but knew the action was not a python

That’s what I thought. Don’t see anything anout rabbits, squirrels, prarie dogs or sparrows either

I heard this. Where did you get this info?

Sad to see but they have to do something. I’d like to see them keep coues as otc but limit mule deer in some units

How about lion outfitters? Need a suggestion? Lol.

If you’re serious about a guide and have some money, hire az ground pounders. They consistently kill the biggest bulls out of 23. I wouldn’t let A3 guide me if it was free

But if we ban assault weapons, these radical idiots will surely stop the shootings right? I mean, they are law abiding citizens and all

Agree with this. Alaska is awesome and all but if your first choice was Hawaii, don’t let a Q-tip up the nose be the deciding factor. I had to get tested before going to Alaska in November. Do they not require negative covid tests anymore?

That’s been my plan to do as soon as i draw a rifle or muzzy tag but I’ll probably be 70 by the time that happens. I’ve shot 5 in different states and just want one, big az antelope in my life

My dad drew. He either had 27 or 28bp’s though so not real excited or surprised. He was due. I had 23, my brother 24 and nothing for us.

Are the 380 and 38spc in 20 or 50 rnd boxes?

Most of the wildlife foundations are great, and i am a member of a few of them but what i am saying is with the amount of money that G&F takes in vs what they spend, the wildlife foundations should not be responsible for donating so much time and money to habitat improvement. When there is that much money unaccounted for each year but the forests are a mess, campgrounds look like dumpsters, lakes are not getting stocked, nothing is getting patrolled, violations are not getting written, game populations are going down, tanks are dry, etc.
-
i want to know who in their right mind would donate when they already have that much unspent money each year. It is crazy that the majority of habitat improvement comes from donations of the different wildlife foundations when there is so much revenue that comes in each year and not spent. how many tanks could you build and fill a year for just a couple million? How many acres of PJ thickets could you clear? how much more accurate would wildlife surveys be? If I'm going to be scratching their back, i need something in return. I'm not saying i need tags every year if i donate either, i'd just like to see more of that revenue actually go towards habitat improvement and conservation.

so, when they took in 130million last year when their expenses are 40mill (i know there are more things they have to pay for than what is in the 40 mill) why do they need our tax returns?

i would reach out to Doug at cameraland. Even though you didn't buy them from him, i'm sure he can help. He has always helped me out when it comes to warranty work.

Last year? What time? All of last year’s draws went smooth

Everyone saying G&F hasn’t done anything wrong because the only guarantee they made was mailing tags by 4/2 is going to be proven wrong here soon. There is NO WAY they can produce a leftover list and mail tags out in 2 weeks. If they hit our credit cards tomorrow, we’d be lucky to have draw results by 4/2, much less a tag in the mail.

With the AZ draw really screwing things up for NM, do you all think there will be more or less applications there? NMGF and AZGFD kind of have a deal worked out so people will know whether or not they drew in AZ before they have to apply for NM.

for a 3-month turnaround and only paying $475, i'd tip

you'd be hard pressed to find a spot in AZ elk country 5 miles from a road. i've packed a LOT of bulls and they are rarely over a mile it seems. The terrain does seem to make more difference than the distance. Possibly my worst pack out was a coues buck. my buddy left about half of his gear with me to go put a stalk on a buck. I ended up finding one in the opposite direction so i loaded up his gear and mine and went and shot the buck. Got caught in a nasty downpour that absolutely soaked me to the bone and my gear, clothes and pack turned into a giant sponge. the packout was probably about 2 miles but had to cross several fences and canyons. I weighed my pack when i finally got him back to the house it was around 130lbs. One of the worst elk packouts was shot across a canyon, only 500 yards from the road. the canyon was not one we could cross, especially with heavy packs. had to loop back around and come in from above him. it was only about a mile and a half but took us the rest of that evening and half of the next day to get him out.
