I took this out one time. Just put fresh batteries in it and it works like new. $40 or trade for some ammo or reloading supplies of same value. Would make a great caller for someone wanting to start varmint calling. Pick up only. Located in Gilbert.

Scary stuff. Even scarier is the “president” puts his name on any piece of paper that comes across his desk without even looking at it. Athletes spend more time looking at a baseball card they are about to sign than he does a bill.

Moisture must have been really spotty then. I saw terrible antler growth and mostly busted bulls this year in the eastern part of the state. Many friends that guide and spend a lot more time out than me saw the same thing. These little storms like this are nice but they don't do a whole lot for the animals and vegetation. The animals in a lot of parts of the state likely headed into winter in pretty poor shape so a nasty winter might not be the best for them strictly for survival. The complete lack of a monsoon in 2019 and 2020 hurts a lot. We need that rain so the animals can have enough browse to get fat for the winter as well as have enough to last through the winter. Mars has more vegetation than some spots i hunt that usually have a lot of feed.

The amount of moisture we need this winter to salvage antler growth is near impossible. It takes a LOT more than one storm, unless it happens to snow 10-12 feet. There is basically zero snow anywhere in AZ and hasn’t been any to speak of all year. Critters are going to be in BAD shape if it’s another dry spring and summer as well

If you have one day to hunt and have scouted, go opening day. If you have not scouted and have 2-3 days maybe go middle week

Premium Hunts or Hunt Hard. Both local outfitters that know the unit better than anyone

Do like some of the NR's do. They'll pool their money and send one guy on a guided OTC Arizona hunt one season and the next they all go back to the same spot with the knowledge that the guy learned the year prior. It has happened to a couple friends of mine that guide. Yuck
-
Texas or NM? If NM, draw or OTC? I need to hunt them again. Good luck fellas. I’m tuning in to this one
-
That's awesome. looks like a helluva mouflon as well. Quite the smorgasbord of game meat. Congrats to you sir
-
lol. Be a red indian? Man, that guy is a little racist! "red indians" have been hunting for thousands of years bruh.

Unbelievable. At least he has jail time and $350k fines on top of it. Should lose privileges for life but like we’ve said many times, these people don’t follow rules anyways so losing privileges isn’t that big of a deal to them.
-
Man, that's tough. It looks like his main beams might be deceivingly long. I'll guess 352" gross but you probably posted it because it is bigger than we'd think

Natchez has it. Nvm, they have fireball brass

The theory that i’ve been working on for years is that the amount of january archery hunters there are has caused the rut to start later/last longer. Fawns get dropped later and they are weaker than they should be when winter rolls around. The few fawns i see anymore are being dropped in mid-late august. That is indicative of a doe that was bred in late february/march. Fawns should be dropped in July .
-
ouch. that's quite a broadhead wound.
-
Exactly. Draw tags are (supposed) to be issued in quantities that that are manageable for the herd size. Who is managing the amount of archery tags that get issued? I would guess that in some units, the amount of archery hunters FAR surpasses the amount of rifle hunters. Offering unlimited archery OTC tags all the while not having mandatory harvest reporting is absolutely ludicrous. G&F has no idea of the impact of these hunts.

They only care about the deer herd North of the Grand Canyon. As long as the Strip and Kaibab keep producing giant bucks they don't care about the rest. The only photos and publicity that deer in AZ get are from there and people looking in from the outside only see/hear about those places and the size and number of deer they have. If the scores/age of every mule deer killed in AZ was averaged it would probably be like 2.5 years old and 100".
-
Nice buck. This one supposedly scores about the same? Not sure who killed it.

It’s running late because all the elk and antelope are dying of thirst.
