So were you swapping a texas hunt for a kansas hunt? Who is the member here? Maybe someone knows the story

Wow not one mention of the big news today in az?

Drove to happy jack and back yesterday. Snowed a little there but it was DUMPING around mt. Ord on the way home. The beeline looked like a river

Recreational Trail Camera use is at Stake!

Good ourfitters will do fine without cameras just like they did 20 years ago. It will just cost a lot more money to find the same amount of big animals. An outfitter can run 500 cameras for a year for the price of one guide scouting for a year.

    Camera Poll

And just look what has happened to the pronghorn population since G&F aerial gunning and predator contests have ended. Good chance our antelope will never come back

    Camera Poll

I wish i had a brother without hunting rights that could run my cameras. Looks like you found a flip side to all his wrongdoings.

There will always be Cameras on water!

When i saw the poll, i expected it to be more on the keep em side. Keep the post up if you want. My heart is on one side and my brain is on the other. Give an inch and they’ll take a mile or take a step back towards what hunting is supposed to be?

    Camera Poll

The whole trail cam ban is a double edged sword for sure and I for one am torn. On one side, i realize that hunting has become something that it was not meant to be and technology must be limited for it to take a step back towards what it is supposed to be. On the other side, just like all the 2A arguments, everything we give back creates another step for further bans. Do we NEED trail cams? No. Do we NEED 1000 yard rifles? No. Do we NEED side by sides? No. If we give up any of them, what is next?

Love him or hate him, you have to admire his passion. G&F 100% reads this forum and someone needs to delete the trail cam poll post.

How to deal with bad taxidermy???

your situation worked out better than most. Glad he made things "right". Most of the time that does not happen with shady taxidermists

pretty sure that the people that oppose the tail cam ban the most (outfitters) have the money backing they need to lawyer up. Donating money for the cause will only put money in their pockets. A3 has a LOT of money behind them and probably the most at stake if the ban happens.

    Game Cameras- G&F Agenda

I watched an AK resident buy a kodiak brown bear tag over the counter for $25 when i was paying $300 for a blacktail tag a few weeks ago. I could get behind this idea.

San Carlos Desert Sheep Hunt 2020

    Holy cow. Well done!
  19. Does anyone have any experience with these? supposedly they are not regulated like a suppressor but cut the noise down to a safe level. Sounds too good to be true to me but maybe not? Thinking about buying one to try it out but want to see if anyone else has any knowledge on them.

    143 eldx

I shoot 130gn eld-m’s out of my .264WM at about 3400fps. They usually do not exit but have been absolutely deadly on a slew of deer. I would probably not shoot an elk with them though. Not that they probably wouldn’t work but I hunt elk with bigger calibers

If the deer is dead, did the bullet fail? I prefer rapid expansion on deer.

    2020 Trekking Poles

Trekking poles are a must for me anymore. Got tired of looking macho while rolling my ankles and falling all the time. Whatever you do, go with aluminum poles. The difference in weight on CF vs Aluminum is negligible and aluminum is a lot stronger. I’ve seen several sets of CF poles break and the result is ALWAYS a very nasty tumble because they break when they are under a lot of strain. Whatever you go with, you’ll wonder why you haven’t been using them for years. I’ve used cork as well as foam handles and can’t tell much of a difference. Kinda like a cork vs foam handle on a fishing rod, it is more preference than anything. My favorite pair are made by easton and they have foam handles. Been going strong for 6-8 years now without issue.
