Must be nice! Keep Hammering! Nobody cares, work harder!

Listen to Snyder’s recent podcast on Non-Profits. Everyone needs to tune in before they decide to donate their money to these organizations who are receiving money from anti gun, anti hunting corporations.

Brian Call can pound sand. He’s a sellout BHA Green Decoy. That being said, i wish G&F would make January archery deer a draw hunt for non-residents. A game warden told me that out of all the people he checked in a particular unit, 80% were nonresidents.

too bad the bore is so rough on the 22.... The price definitely reflects that though. cool rifles as always

The official “I didn’t get jack shoot” thread

I have 24, my brother has 24 and my dad has 28. No lope tags again. I’m only 34 and am honestly concerned that with the current state of pronghorn in AZ combined with point creep and application increase, i might never in my lifetime draw antelope. Meanwhile, people with zero BP’s keep drawing -
during the early archery hunt, i'd say it's a toss up. 27 early archery is a GRIND anymore. there is a lot of migration in and out of the unit depending on the season. there aren't many cows in 27.......

I applied for LO hunts and can't draw. I bet if there was a 3 year waiting period for bull tags, a guy could draw every 3-5 years. Everyone acts like us that don't draw tags are only putting in for primo hunts... not the case fellas. i wouldn't complain about 4 tags in 25 years if i was only putting in for early archery/rifle. 4) mid- low tier late bull tags in 25 years is why i complain about it. For sheep you should have to apply for 10 years before your name makes it's way to the hat. it just seems like the same people draws tags every year. -
dang. what a steal on that 44 carbine. those are cool rifles

Nothing for me again. I've got a statistic that I'd like to hear if anyone else has. In my 25 consecutive years of applying, I have never drawn a tag in the random pool. I have had to be in the max pool for every. single. tag. Never drawn antelope, drawn 3 mid-tier elk and 1 lowest tier elk tag. I've drawn a lot of deer tags but they have always been hunts where my 2 BP's put me in the max pool. I have 100% never been surprised when the cards get hit because I've been basically guaranteed every tag i have ever drawn. I honestly think i might have the worst draw luck of anyone EVER. so if anyone is feeling bad, it could probably be worse. -

Bingo. How many people use the same or nearly the same password for a lot of different online accounts? If a password falls in the wrong hands, it could potentially be detrimental.

Lark is doing fine. Trust me. He spends more time hunting each year than most of us do in 10. He's taken some great animals since his departure and has been involved in in taking many more. He's created more memories and stories to tell since leaving this site than he'd have time to share anyways.

Favorite Elk Bullet? Average shot distance in AZ?
GreyGhost85 replied to excaliber's topic in Elk Hunting
i watched 2 bulls get shot with 200gn ELDX bullets out of a 300RUM this year at 475 and 540. they hit really hard and killed both elk but neither exited. One bull was shot through the shoulders and was DRT. Most bullets will not shoot through elk shoulders anyways so i wasn't too concerned. The bull that was 540 yards away was hit a bit far back (liver shot) first and he ran a couple hundred yards and bedded up. had to shoot him again at about 250 yards. 2nd shot was behind the shoulder. left a hole bigger than a softball on entrance and liquefied his lungs but didn't exit. he was angled away so the fragments probably ended up in the offside shoulder. I would not hesitate shooting them at elk BUT there are bullets that will penetrate better. i honestly prefer bullets that fragment but only after they've penetrated far enough to get into the vitals -
That bottom smallmouth is a chunk!

I’ve never seen a ring that could plug a hole

Use em for a castration band. You’ll just have to have them resized a little smaller.

wanted: Taxidermist with freeze dryer for velvet
GreyGhost85 replied to ZJARCHER's topic in Classified Ads
Yes, I am aware of that. I am also aware that a lot of reputable taxidermists that do not have have a freeze dryer just leave them in their freezer for a year before they mount them. -

Yeah, mogollon. You can do it yourself. Just leave the antlers in the freezer uncovered for a year or more. I’ve done that with several bucks and they’ve always held up good. Sounds like the 2018 buck should be done.
