Good luck. I lost a leica 1600 in Colorado several years ago. Ranged an antelope and shot him. Hit him hard and he laid down just out of range. Watched him for a little while and realized i couldn’t find my rangefinder when i was trying to shoot him again. Started looking for it and the antelope disappeared. Lost the buck and a rangefinder. Looked for a day and a half for both of them

I don’t think 25gns more up front will change anything enough to notice. A slick trick and an appropriately weighted arrow will kill anything you need it to. There will be basically zero difference in anything going from 400 to 425 grains. Now, if you bumped up to 500+, you’ll get more penetration. Stay off the shoulder and have fun

If i had 26bp’s, i would 100% give my tag back if i hadn’t found a great buck to chase. As everyone else says, you can kill a 75-80” buck every year. I’ve killed 4-5 in colorado in that range. I want one BIG AZ buck. Sitting on 23bp’s now. I probably have another 10 years waiting at this rate. Good luck on the draw next year

Don’t worry about him. If you never kill anything you don’t have to worry about recovering it. Also, he has to get his 10 negative posts a day quota in.

You know the range of the animal and general area. Get in the vicinity of your downed animal and range your shooting nest. Follow the “lateral line” of that range.

Tried on all the crispi’s at ross a couple weeks ago. They are all very comfortable but they don’t make a boot that has much ankle support. Went with Zamberlan.
