Couple of deer tags here

Funny, I just helped a guy at work that was having trouble with it and we had to take the dashes out on one application and leave them in on another application. I'm still betting that the deadline gets extended. there are a lot of people having issues updating payment info

Starting new mineral licks
GreyGhost85 replied to CatfishKev's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I’ve been in the mineral lick game for at least 15 years now and have learned a thing or two. In the unit I primarily hunt, i do my “scouting” when there is snow on the ground and i can really see trails good. If you don’t have that luxury, just looks for “couesy” spots. If you want to hunt over the salt licks, find a good area and spend a lot of tome looking at your setup. As long as the salt is in a reasonable distance from a well traveled area, the animals will find it. I make sure i have a good camera location 20’ or so from the salt and preferably facing north, with south being option 2. I also find a ground blind location that is either exactly 20 or exactly 30 yards from the salt to take any guess work out of a potential shot opportunity. Some times mineral licks take a year or two to really take off and they always get better over time. I use loose mineral salt. The deer seem to like it better when it is dissolved into the dirt. Cattle seem to like it less when it is fully dissolved as well. Send me a PM if you really want me to get into depth on what i have learned based on feeding vs bedding areas, wind, approach, etc. anyone can throw salt on the ground and get photos of deer but it takes a lot more than that to “make” a hunting spot. -
I’m in the club as well......what a nightmare

Anyone Updated Payment Info?
GreyGhost85 replied to GreyGhost85's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Well, at least someone else had the same issue. I feel your pain. -
Has anyone updated their credit card information? i can't figure it out. the order number is like 40 digits and when i enter it, nothing works? I've never had to do this before but someone decided they needed my credit card information more than i do. i've been on hold with G&F for 40 minutes now.

Anyone Updated Payment Info?
GreyGhost85 replied to GreyGhost85's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I went to the mesa office this morning only to be told i needed to go to the phoenix office. I was literally the only person in the office. Finally after enough persuading (and complaining about their BS system, etc) someone finally helped me get it squared away. When i was entering the information yesterday, whenever i left the “dashes” in the order number it would tell me that only numbers and letters were accepted. When i took the dashes out, it said there was no record of that order number. I just pray it all went through alright. -
Has anyone fished the black this year? I have a trip planned for this weekend and am trying to figure out whether or not it will be a waste of time. I've heard that last week the fishing was bad. The river was running too high, was very muddy and full of debris. It looks like the flow has stabilized and dropped a fair amount, but it is still a couple feet above average. I'll probably still give it a go regardless, but just curious if anyone has any first hand knowledge. Usually by now, the runoff has been done for a few weeks and the fishing is great.

I’m just going to go to the G&F office to get it straightened out. I’m not sure why what should and could be such a simple process has to be such a nightmare. 50 digits for an order number? Come on now. -

Nope. The order number is between 40 and 50 digits and when i enter it, it says no record found. Was on hold with g&f for 45 minutes, only to be transferred to their draw department, then on hold for 15-20 minutes then i got a message that their office was closed. On hold for about an hour today. Frustrating. I have 7 applications on my card. -
I’m confused with southeast valley and north side of town?
-
Why wouldn’t you post the pictures of the crime? As far as we can tell, someone has a vendetta against an old man trying to walk his dogs
-
Nope. They don’t shut the hunts down. I’m sure if the fired were actively burning during the hunt, they’d do something
-
Good luck on the sale. Not to lowball or anything as i have no interest in that rifle but you are asking about double it’s value. If it was a pre-64 like you thought, you’d still be pretty high but closer

#fakenews. No fire.

Looks like a good time! That spot looks familiar!

If you had one brand choice for AZ camo set ( pants+ shirt) which would you pick?
GreyGhost85 replied to Gut Pile's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I have a whole closet full of kuiu and find myself wearing my Prana Zion pants and Black Ovis merino tops much more than the kuiu. I like mostly everything about them better than my kuiu gear, as much as it pains to say. -

Catfish Kev is correct. If you are in the bonus pass for your 1st or 2nd choice, you will get that tag. If i apply for a long shot 1st choice, and a guaranteed tag 2nd choice, the computer will skip over even looking at your 1st choice. -
Coues are browsers, not grazers. Most of what they eat grows above ground, not on the ground so snow doesn’t affect them as much. It takes a LOT of snow to push them out of their hole.

I’m not gay, but a sheep tag is a sheep tag, am I right? -

Someone needs to start a “what would you do for a sheep tag” topic.
