What is the best Couse unit in AZ

Just go to any unit and fire a 6.5cm at a random mountainside. The bullet is guaranteed to only hit a monster buck.

    Unknown scat

What do you want us to tell you bud? Sounds like you’re convinced it’s a 300lb javelina. Judging by the diameter, could be a male javelina that enjoys the company of another male? But, i’ve also never seen a pig that could wipe

Not enough corn in it to be human. On a serious note though, looks like a beef calf to me.

    Band Tailed Pigeons

It seems like when i see them they are pretty thick but it’s not very often. More of a target of opportunity than something people actually target successfully. Good luck out there!

    Band Tailed Pigeons

I always see them at higher elevation. 6-8k. They seem spotty at best. Killed a couple a few years ago. I saw a ton od them south of stoneman lake 3-4 years ago.

How Die Hard Of A Hunter are you??

Man....i must have a pretty good woman. I don’t have to pay her off, she doesn’t try to sell my antlers and no guilt trips. I also hold down a good job and basically “live in the woods” Must be an anomaly.

    Bull Elk are Tough!!

Here is that bull i referred to. Hate when people post a story without a photo. Don't want to be that guy. You can see the arrow from the last shot still lodged in the spine. i think this in 2008 or 2009 and i was 23 or 24 at the time. 1st and only Archery tag. That tall piece of grass growing up in front of the near side 3rd point still bugs me. Not sure why nobody told me to take my hat off either.....

    Bull Elk are Tough!!

My only archery bull was a nightmare. I put a Montec in the "12 ring". Complete pass through, right at crease of shoulder, about 3" below center. He walked about 100 yards and laid down in the middle of a meadow and stayed there for about 2 hours. Got to his feet, walked over to a fence and jumped it. Could not believe what i was seeing. At that point i decided i needed to get another arrow in him. Snuck around and found him bedded a hundred yards or so from the fence he jumped, behind a dead log with his neck and head exposed looking at me. I took the only shot i had and put one through the neck. Complete pass through again. The bull hopped up and ran off like he wasn't hit. Gave it another hour or so and started following the blood trail, or lack there of. Found him bedded again, probably 200 yards from his last bed. Snuck in close, straight above him and put one right behind the shoulders, through the top of the spine. The broadhead stopped in his brisket. That shot anchored him by breaking his spine. After that shot, a HUGE amount of air was blowing out of his body and he deflated like a balloon. About 3 hours and a quarter mile he made it without lungs. When i gutted him, the first shot was dead center through both lungs but they didn't fill up with blood like they should. The air escaping from the holes in his lungs filled up his chest cavity like a balloon is why it all released after the last shot. He was a big, tough bull (374" if i remember correctly) but man, it was a rodeo getting him down.

How Die Hard Of A Hunter are you??

Well, i’m not married yet, so i don’t have to worry about it. I spend at least 20 weekends a year gone doing something hunting related with a few 10-14 day hunts sprinkled in there. I don’t go in more than a day or so before the hunt, because that’s why i scout a lot. I generally go home when i tag out unless i know someone else with a tag. I would like to say i’m an 8-9.

Lamell was and still is a legend in those parts. I knew him personally. Spent some time admiring his trophy room when i was growing up.

    Looking for a .243

If you're looking at a Winchester M70, take a look at Montana rifles. They are built on a pre-64 m70 style action and run nearly the same price as the Winchester for the walnut stock version. really pretty, well built rifles and are a lot of "gun" for the money

    2A,2B,2C Hunt

There are some good bucks but there is a reason they aren’t more popular. Very low densities and a ton of pricate property includin reservation. Even the guys that know these units extremely well usually struggle to turn up deer. In all honesty, tracking them down is how a lot of guys kill them. The sandy ground in this hunt makes it easier than some areas

    Freeze drying velvet

There are ways to do it by wrapping the bases but most people saw the antlers off individually and freeze dry them, then euro the skull and reattach the antlers to it.

    Freeze drying velvet

for you taxidermists out there, how long does a velvet rack need to stay in the freezer to be dried sufficiently? i have had one in for a year now and don't want to jump the gun and pull it out early. it's too big of a buck to risk having the antlers spoil
