The biggest mulies, elk and consistently biggest desert sheep in the WORLD come from arizona. 200 mulies and 400 bulls do nothing for them. That is why people spend their money here. There isnt a landowner tag on earth as good as an Arizona statewide tag Andy and you know it. The people that buy these tags, outside of rhoton, are not physically capable of killing a giant animal on a non auction tag. The commission elects the committee, right? Just like the committee elects the commission? See a similarity? Let me post up a list of current CAPAZ and SFW members. Guarantee the education committee is near identical.

Thats the problem. People dont do their research. All they hear is a group wants to raise money to fight off antis, and theyre all about it. Do some digging into the board members of CAPAZ. They are all current or previous SFW members. Some are on the commissioner appointing committe. Conflict of interest? They are the same group that tried to pay off a congressman to slip the tag grab through last time just before his term ended. They all have ties with the perennial auction tag buyers (meyer, hamberlin, gallo, Barrett, etc). They openly talk about the million dollar donors that are lined up if they get things their way. I am convinced that there is not one supporter that could put theirself on a stand and honestly say that CAPAZ has all of our best interests in mind.

Same thing Utah SFW has to gain from it. The board members’ rich buddies get tags while they line their pockets. Anyone know where the other 70% of the money raised from the Utah banquet ends up? If so, please enlighten everyone. The committee that AZ puts together will all have ties and similar interests to the Utah SFW and Don Peay.

If anybody thinks that CAPAZ truly wants to raise money for the right reason they may want to rethink. Taking a simple fee increase off the table REALLY limits any way to raise money other than a tag grab. I am sorry but them saying a $5 increase would place a financial burden on sportsmen is total BS. They will start small saying they don't want many tags and the majority will not be trophy hunts. Give it a couple years and they will control a huge percentage of the most desirable tags in AZ and they WILL be auctioning tags at a big banquet not dissimilar to what Utah does. All they want right now is a foot in the door, which they have been granted.

Im a little confused with that part also with the new critter groups requesting auction tags. These are just deciding on the auction/raffle tags that are issued to the AZ Super Big Game Raffle, and the various sportsmans groups to auction at their banquets. This happens every year. It's how money is raised to the HPC process which funds wildlife projects on the ground. Thanks for the clarification

You are correct except for the stap fee. I agree with the concept but AZGFD cannot use monies it raises for political campaigns. So, who is getting the money from the raffle tags?

If im not mistaken, the money raised is going to an organization created by g&f. It will be a committee formed by g&f members if i am not mistaken. The whole who can and cant spend money and what the money can or cant be spent on seems like it was all smoke and mirrors. According to Sneaky Pete, the tags will remain in the hands of g&f and they will be responsible for their distribution, not CAPAZ or any outside organizationx

No, Pete cannot do anything with the tags. It is now up to the G&F to do the right thing and shoot this down. Raffling and auctioning of tags should be an absolute last resort when it comes to raising money. We all know tags WILL generate a lot of money but there have been MANY suggestions that would raise comparable amounts of money and these have all been ignored. Say you have an issue with your leg. You go to the doctor and right off they bat he tells you the only to fix it is to cut it off. are you going to listen to him and cut the leg off? You know with 100% certainty that removing your leg will "fix" the problem, but wouldn't you want to exhaust all other options before you just agree to do so? Maybe get a second opinion? maybe try something else to start?

Pete is nothing more than a politician. He is a SFW board member and tried to pass this BS last time around. He has ties to Don Peay and all the other SFW guys that try to make hunting a sport for the rich. He calls anyone that disagrees with him “fools” and is unwilling to listen to any other way to raise money other than tags. Shall i continue on reasons i do not trust him or CAPAZ?

If they offered 1 raffle javelina tag for “education” it is a win for CAPAZ. All the raffle tags are is a way for Sneaky Pete to get his foot in the door for a tag grab. His end game is auction tags. They’ll settle on raffle tags for a couple of years, then he’ll come back and say it isn’t raising enough money. The next step will be auction tags and a big expo. Pete has a bunch of rich buddies and he will not stop until they get their auction tags.
