^^^^this. Live crawdads also work well. I river fish smallmouth a lot and leave the tacklebox at home. I bring hooks, split shots, a bait bucket and a minnow net and flip over rocks till i have a jug full of bait.

6.5 130 gns shot great out of my .264 win mag. Killed a PILE of animals. Always pass throughs, even through elk shoulders. Loved them. Expensive though -
I know you're new here, but offers and deals are usually best done via PM.

What a cluster fuk of a sale that was

That looks like a vulnerable spot. I wouldn't sit it either way. Too low and no back drop. Animals would probably see you a mile away

If i got a pic of just one of those kittens without an adult i would think it was an ocelot.

Got my 1st archery bull tag. Need equipment advice
GreyGhost85 replied to DUG's topic in Elk Hunting
I hunt all day and feel that most people who get it done consistently do. I chase bugles morning and evening and usually sit wallows or water mid day. Archery elk huntinf is not for people that like sleep. My days usually start at 2:00 waking up. Out of camp by 3:00. Find a hot spot where the elk are making noise and get as close as you can in the dark. Chase bugles until they bed and go sit water until 3:00 or so. Chase bugles until dark, eat dinner and head back out to locate bulls so they will be easier to find in the morning -
In my experience river fishing, stay away from closed faced reels if possible. I'm always getting my spinning reels wet crossing and such. Closed faced reels seem to seize up when that happens. Like stated above, quality, appropriate sized line makes a BIG difference

It says they are out of Laramie Wyoming

Stumbled on a herd of 10-11 rockies the other day. Couple pretty good ones.
-
Yeah, they weren't very far off the road. Rockies are usually a lot bigger body size. Really deep chested, stocky animals. Big rams go over 300lbs. Most desert sheep i think are in the ballpark of 150-200lbs. Their coat is usually a lot more gray as well. Like you stated, easiest way to tell is where they are. I have seen rockies from 3,000' in unit 28 to 9,000'+ in unit 1/27 though. Theoretically there isn't any overlap in their populations though i

sad reality that probably 90% of us that apply every year will never get an AZ ram. The Ram in the 4th pic down could really be a big one in a few years. Real low dropping curl and long horns. Looks like he's only 6-7 years old

The Fluorite wears off after a few washes. You can buy special detergent that puts the fluorite back into them though

Anyone know of a good beetle/skull cleaner preferably in the east valley? I know CMC in Tucson does a great job, but don't want to drive to Tucson. It's for a big bull elk, if that matters.

Crispi makes a fantastic boot. I've got one long season on a pair of their summit gtx's. still holding up well. Honestly probably the most comofortable boot i've ever worn

I found a camera hung in one of the areas i hunt. It has been there for about 3 years now and nobody has checked it. Can't bring myself to pull the card. Wonder when the statute of limitations runs out? Haha
