so, i recently ordered a Burris Veracity 5-25x50. i considered the sightron and vortex, as they are in the same price range. i like the fact that the burris has turret caps, and to be honest, i am not really happy with my current vortex optics. has anyone had any experience with these scopes? the few reviews i have read are all very positive. i won't be able to mess with mine for a couple months and am curious if any one else has given them a try?

What singleshot said. Weather will be nice, but won't get too far off the main roads. Still a fair amount of snow and will be a lot of mud

Well, i'm on my 2nd veracity. The first one was damaged (horse fell against a tree and crushed the scope inside the rings) and Burris replaced it with a new model in under 2 weeks. So thumbs up for customer service. I have had the ballistic plex reticle on both of them. I like the reticle fairly well. It's FFP, so once you figure out how many MOA between hash marks it's fairly easy. They are heavy scopes and not the same optically as the very high end, which is to be expected. I have found them to be quite a bit more clear than vortex pst, and i think they slightly edge sightron. The new ones have lower turrets which i didn't like at first but i do like the fact that they give you 25 MOA per revolution. The zero stop is very easy and quick, much better than the shim systems that other scopes use. It has held up well to the heavy recoil of my .338 Lapua. Tracking seems to be spot on. I have shot it out to 1,100 and it holds true. It has 4 kills. 3 elk at 420, 650, 740 and i shot a coues at 520. For the money i would buy again. Really beefy, tough scopes

Because in certain units ( 9 and 13 mostly), on man made water sources there are 20+ cameras on every water hole. People constantly hiking in/out to check their cameras disrupt other people trying to hunt and push animals off the water source. Those water sources are made and maintained to benefit wildlife but when there is a steady string of people walking to and from them every day, it defeats their purpose

Looking for a unique place to eat around May Clinic in Phoenix
GreyGhost85 replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
Richardson's is absolutely fantastic. Pretty close to the mayo clinic. The 51 and bethany home roughly. I recommend their carne adovada -
I knew that thing would draw quick interest

Am i understanding it correctly? They want to ban them on ONLY "point water sources" ie springs and seeps? So they will still be ok on man made water sources, which is where the problem lies?
-
There is absolutely no possible way to limit the number of trail cameras a person runs. If they had to be tagged or registered, people would just put them in other people's names. Banning cameras on man made and maintained water holes would pretty much solve the problem, but they won't make it that easy. Their decision will hurt a lot of us average joes that just like running cameras in our off the grid locations.

I agree that natural water sources should be okay. It's the man-made and maintained water sources where the problem lies.
-
I do agree 100% that drones should not be used in any aspect of hunting though.
-
It was only a matter of time. 20+ cameras on every water source in units 9 and 13a/b is the reason for this I'm sure.

someone has been listening to Joe Rogan!

Yup. Btx eyepiece. Outdoorsman's already has it on their page. Looks like it would be pretty slick.........and expensive

I would just level it myself. I've always had lifted trucks but finally got tired of front end/alignment problems. That being said, desert rat, sdhq and 4-wheel parts do a good job of installing lift kits and they are in the east valley

Not coues related but now that hunting season is over.......
GreyGhost85 replied to shurtzgarret's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Always been a chevy guy myself, but i am not a fan of their diesels. I don't like the IFS on GM HD's, that much weight over independent suspension doesn't sit well with me. I also like having a cummins with a level kit and clearing 35's no problem. They are slick trucks though. My favorite looking -
