....the Nightforce Beast is also a $4300 scope. Pretty sure Lance has a few scopes inthe specified price range. He can probably provide better feedback than the rest of us.

i would say the wolves are about equal in unit one and 27. most of the wolves i have seen i suspect travel between the units. there are a LOT more wolves than USFW want to admit. i'm sorry, but if there were only around 100 wolves in AZ, you wouldn't see them nearly as often. the wolves are not what is destroying these units though, over harvesting of elk is

if you have a big ice chest you can age a deer pretty good. fashion some sort of rack to keep the meat off the bottom and out of the liquid. i have a great big pelican cooler and aged my deer in it in my garage for about 10 days last year

Yeah, 3 weeks is a long time. They get real moldy on the outside. When they get that way, we soak towels in vinegar and wipe all the mold off and trim off the protective layer. Seems strange to a lot of people but man does it make them taste good. You can age different cuts of meat in the refrigerator pretty good too. Put the meat on a small rack that is a little bit elevated (like a cookie cooling rack), put a cookie sheet under it to collect anything thing that drips out and let the meat age for a few days, up to about a week before cooking it. Works great when you can't hang the whole animal for an extended period

Okay. I have a doozy here. I have a rifle that USED to shoot unbelievably well. 1/2" 200 yard groups consistently. I let a buddy borrow it on a pack trip and it spent around 100 miles in a scabbord. I can't get it to shoot now. 2-3" groups at 200 and they seem to be stringing diagonally up and right. No, it isn't a vortex but it is a higher end, reputable brand scope. Everything is torqued, load hasn't changes, barrel only has maybe 200 rounds through it, etc. for all of you that have had scope failure, what were the tell tale signs you got?
-
Well, Burris made it right. They replaced the scope with their newest model. I dropped it off at the post office last week and the new one will arrive tomorrow. Outstanding warranty and customer service in my book.

age it as long as you can. i've hung old deer for probably 3 weeks before.
-
what is the barrel twist? is it fast enough to stabilize those heavy bullets?
-
congrats. looks like an old buck, love the coloring on his face and forehead
-
burris makes a picatinny mount for a ruger. That's what i use on mine. Ring selection is alot better
-
they used to do that when people were just hunting for meat with open sight 30-30's and binoculars were a rare luxury.

How bad of a spot is it in? Would a diesel pickup with a tow strap be able to get it out or would you need to put it one a flatbed? -
You ever make it to the valley?

These are sold pending funds and meet up

Like the title says, I am selling a pair of Zeiss 15x60 BGA-T* binos with the rubber eye cups. It will probably be regretted, but they're not getting much use. Anyone that knows these old Zeiss, knows the BGA-T* models are the best and hardest to come by. These are great binoculars. For their age, they're still in really good shape. There is a small scratch on one of the ocular lenses you can see in the pics. It doesn't seem to really affect anything and you can't see when you look through them. Other than that the lenses are in fantastic shape. I'll include a pretty nice carrying case and they come with a good tripod adapter installed. Asking $1200 OBO.
-
yes, they're BGA-T*. supposed to be better than the regular B (BGA) model
-
Back up. Someone has gotta need some good binos. Make an offer

27 is going to be an aspen jungle in a few more years

i'm a huge fan of meatloaf. Steven Rinella has a great mozzarella stuffed recipe that i tweak a little bit.

that's the kind of sow that i don't mind being killed. good chance she wouldn't make it through the winter. congrats! i bet she's 20+ years old. definitely past breeding age i would guess
-
the quality and quantity of bulls in 27 this year is WAAAAAY down. the 500 bulls they have killed in there every year since the burn has finally made a huge impact. the age class is way down as well. when you see raghorns pushing cows in 27 it's a sad day. G&F has to do something to right this. the late hunt in there since the burn has been nothing but a slaughter.

I've found the same thing before. I chalked it up to the buck dying when he was fairly close to shedding. I another found a dead head one time that had GIANT pedicles. I'm sure it was a huge buck, but never found the antlers. i figured he died shortly after shedding

They probably aren't gone because you can buy them brand new right now for $1999 through the end of the year so some swarovski items are probably temporarily down in resale value

Remington Custom .243 SPS Ti Alaskan Stock--Reloaded Ammo and Brass

I'm going out on a limb here but i think it's the stock barrel. looks like a standard model 700 that has an aftermarket stock and the trigger adjusted is all.
