Growing up a lot of guys i know mouth bugled. Probably didn't sound very good but it was effective. I do think that elk are a lot more educated now with all the calls available and the success probably wouldn't be too good. I remember as a kid my dad would always take me out elk calling. Seems like we went most nights during the rut. It seems like bulls used to be MUCH easier to call in. Not many guys were doing it or doing it right 20 years ago. I have memories of giant elk so close they would blow spit on you when they screamed and calling heard bulls away from cows, which is near impossible anymore. The bull to cow ratio was probably lower then. The hoochie mama came out and sounds pretty good and anyone can use it. That invention really put a damper on elk calling, IMO.

man, GREAT bucks. WMAT I'm guessing?

I'll be in 27 as well. much later in the year though....just how i like it.

get it cut on and get your crossbow permit for archery hunts this year. Or wait until you get an archery bull tag to get it cut on?
-
These have go-carts written all over them

i think you'll run into more hound hunters above the rim than below anymore. saw a good bear in 27 this weekend below the rim.

Not to hijack, the OP probably knows better. The lug pattern should be the same but the hole for the hub is usually smaller on tacomas. I have run chevy wheels on a tacoma, but not tacoma wheels on a chevy. Those could be chevy wheels though and if so they would fit.

What do the creedmore and .280 weigh? -
What caliber is the 94?

Too bad there isn't a 27 south hunt this year. Lame

That's a thumper. I would guess between 3-400 pounds. Hard to tell wirth those pics. Great bear

bring a small net and catch live crawdads and hellgrammites. i have fished the black a lot and all i carry is hooks and split shots anymore. bass can't resist live bait. you can usually stop in a good shallow pool and catch enough bait to last the day in not much time

Right on. Thanks for the insight. I used to have pics of a bull from an area i frequent that had 3-4 mainbeams per side. He had to have 14"+ bases, they almost touched like a bighorn, and points everywhere. Didn't have a typical frame at all, not sure how you would even score him but he was a really big bull with a TON of antler. Sure wish i could find him again

Pix, is there a chance that bull in the cam pic is the same as in your avatar? I've seen animals that have a nasty side on their rack and it straightens out the next year. Either way, nice bull and another bump

Apology accepted Woody. Coke is on me. Who gives a $hit whether mother nature, man, woman or beast started the fire? It's a bad deal for everyone.
-
Woody, you should re-read all of your posts and never question anyone's intelligence other than your own. I would have a better chance deciphering egyptian hieroglyphs than most of your paragraphs. Looks like unfortunately my "source" was right though eh? Gotta hope for rain and no wind or this one is gonna burn out at the wallow fire line

Get it on ice as soon as you can and keep it cold until you get it to your taxidermist or freezer

Those rifles were like $25 when they came out. My dad has one. They are great guns. Accurate, light, never jam, eat anything you load them with.
-
Great deal, good seller. Bump it up

Ok Sherlock. They announced it was caused by lightning, and thus far that is still listed as the cause. Now, because some of us believe that, we get belittled? Why don't you enlighten us all with "the truth" Woody?. Out of character for you to post on here during the day and sober, isn't it? The point is, there is a big fire that is putting a lot of people, animals and land in danger, let's not detract from that point

I have a very inside source of information. The fire broke the fire lines to the east last night and took off. throw all the containment percentages out the window. buckle your seatbelts people.

great population of bears in 27. the hunt will still be open in august, it will be archery only though. bear tags only cost $30-40 for residents so it isn't as much of a gamble. i buy bear, lion, archery deer, archery turkey at the same time i get my license every year. you could buy the archery turkey tag as well and be able to deer, bear. turkey hunt simultaneously.

Most guys out here run Eberlestock, Kifaru, Kuiu, Mystery Ranch, etc.
-
unless you are hunting the for southern boundary of 27, you shouldn't have too many snake issues. i spend a LOT of time in there and very very rarely see one
