Does she need any practice skulls?

That's a sweet rifle. If only it wasn't a single shot. Do you have to take the bolt out to load a round? Maybe try parting it out?

Escudilla and Baldy next?

If you had property or ran cattle in the blue wilderness you would say otherwise. That is ground zero for the hybrid wolf reintroduction, and the land is yet to recover from that. last thing we need is bears that have NEVER been native to az released in to the blue.Look at Montana, the objective has been met/surpassed many times over and the state still can't manage them. If reintroduction is pushed for hunting purposes AZ will have yet another BS "endangered" untouchable species to deal with. Ben Lilly did us all a favoe by eradicating them. RIP. Tread lightly in this. Sonoran Grizzlies, which is the sub species we had in AZ, is extinct. Reintroducing ordinary grizzlies into an unsuspecting habitat would be detrimental. Saying you would be "behind it" is a selfish an uneducated response. -
It was a python, not a coral snake

10% of bucks killed were over 200"? That's pretty good odds, especially archery
-
you are correct. at least 20 a year should be cleared out though?
-
Heat, your inbox is full.....

Now with all the max point holders handcuffing themselves by applying for the same couple units, do 20% of them even get drawn every year? it sure doesn't seem like it. About 10 years ago i ran the numbers on the max point holders and at 20% of them getting tags every year, the max pool should have been cleared out by now?

Heat, that sheep in your avatar looks big. any story on it? better photos? i wish G&F would go back to up front fees for all species. especially bighorn. it would weed out a LOT of people that aren't all that interested in hunting to begin with

That guy in this site drew 27 rocky with 0bp last year! It would blow most people's mind's if they knew how little bp's helped until you have max. From 0 to 26 bp's there is only like a 2-3% odds increase. Honestly, odds of drawing a sheep tag aren't much worse than a rifle antelope tag in a good unit. I'm sitting on 18bp for lope and only have about a 2-4% chance of a tag compared to about a 1-2.5% chance for sheep
-
Ernesto, i'm guessing that's a typo? The absolute max is 27?

i have a set of 285x70x17's with wheels that have about 60% tread on them. i think the are Dick Cepek AT's. could give you a smoking deal if interested

If everyone in the party had to surrender their tags, not just the guy with all the points, it would be fine. That or, if you apply in a party you can't surrender the tag. I too do not like it one bit. All it is going to do is make tags harder to draw and put a price on points. I could get behind it for extenuating circumstances like health reasons but the case should be reviewed and G&F deems if it is a good excuse or not to surrender it

i'm not sure why killing a 200+ buck someone has a picture of would be a problem? every single water source on the strip has multiple cameras. if a deer takes a drink in his lifetime there is a really good chance someone has a picture of him. if you are building points and only want to hunt an unknown deer, maybe 27 december would be a good choice?
-
i think that the people that hunt the strip year in and year out try to make it sound much worse than it is. i have a close friend that drew it last year and killed a buck pushing 230". said there were a lot of deer and a lot of really big bucks. had to wade through 180-200"ers to find the right one. this was also his first time on the strip and it was unguided. I would say, without knowing personally, that the unit has big swings in deer population due to weather and migration. some years people report a tough hunt and some years people say there are a ton of deer and big bucks, but i think in general it is isn't as tough as a hunt as the regulars try to make it out to be. it is very far and very remote and that is probably the main factor that makes people say it is such a tough hunt

For some reason i developed an itch for a 45LC. Not real particular on make or model but don't want a "judge" type or anything. Let me know if anyone has one they are looking to part with. Thanks
