$1 to look at it, $2 to touch it, $3 to watch me touch it

the 15's. if i was to cut corners on optics, it would be my "chest pair" 10x42's. i use them for quick glances when hiking is all.

i shot one in AZ near mammoth AZ. i think it cost around $200. the place doesn't offer the hunts anymore but I'm pretty sure there are wild ones along the river there. i have heard you are not supposed to shoot them there, but if there are feral pigs on state land, i'm not sure there is anything anyone could do about it?

First things first, let's learn how to spell "antelope". 2nd, congrats on the tag. Apparently 20 years isn't long enough to draw

Good luck with cell phone coverage. Alpine is the closest reliable service. There is one spot on the highway near Josh Ranch where you can usually get a little service. Most of 27 is a black hole

It depends on what your definition of "back country" is. I have spent a lot of time in what most would consider "back country". I donMt notice much difference in game from 1-10 miles from a road

And another one

The bigger and older they get, the less they show up. It's pretty random. Some bucks come in almost daily, and have been for years. The bigger buck in pictures 2 and 5, i have been watching for 4 years now. I think he's 7-8 years old this year. He used to be the most frequently photographed buck and now i might get 2-3 pictures of him each season is all. To answer your question, immature bucks are much more "patternable" than mature bucks

go on... i think that's a joke. Pretty sure Rio Grande turkeys are only on the Strip in AZ

Great buck. What'd he score?

What's with all the clowning on cyber scouters?
GreyGhost85 replied to KingJeff187's topic in Elk Hunting
there is a difference in needing a little help and when you get drawn, make a CW account and post 1 is asking where to find animals. you will notice that people on here that contribute and help people are much more likely to get advice when they need it than joehunter ask for help on his first post. e scouting destroys "hot spots" these forums are public. e scouting is nothing like what you mentioned -
Tips for archery cow elk 4B? Never been..
GreyGhost85 replied to tommyboy1995's topic in Elk Hunting
If you hunt herd bulls, not p!ss heads you will notice there are a lot of cows to get through to kill the bull. Small bull elk in the rut are easy but big bulls are a whole new beast. You could make the argument with immature bulls, but not big herd bulls -

Lol on cow hunts being harder than bull -
Great description. God's country for sure. I love those gritty, rough yet rewarding hunts

Hard to tell. I would bet the house on 85-95" though. Good G1's good mainbeams, pretty good mass

what happened to the post yesterday "and let the cyber scouters start"
GreyGhost85 replied to couesmagnet's topic in Elk Hunting
I love how that is everyone's exit strategy on here. "I have hunts to go on" or "i am too busy actually hunting". Or "i actually have a job and cant be on here all the time". -
Wowza. Congrats. How many BP if you don't mind me asking?

Where are you located?

they don't compare to leica, swaro, zeiss or meopta. Probably around the same as doctors or kaibabs, with both of them probably having a slight edge. They are good starter 15's and good for the money though

WTB- borrow window gun rest for Champ Hunter
GreyGhost85 replied to elkaholic's topic in Classified Ads
Something like Lance said. I would be concerned about a mount that clamps on to both the window and rifle. The recoil needs somewhere to go and would probably break the window if it didn't .
