Looking for a starter bow for a 10 year old. Something reasonably priced in the 20-60 pound range that he can learn to shoot and hunt with. Thanks

I have the Viper 15x50 HD's. They are hard to freehand since they are 15's but they are great on a tripod, lightest 15's on the market! I use Nikon 10x42's when I'm hiking. If I were to just carry one pair I would get 12X50's.

Know some of you are out in the rain trying to fill those tags! Good luck and hope you can find a rainy day buck!

Well done! That cactus buck is cool!

What do you guys think about scent control
AZ_SAWBUCK replied to couesdeerhntr's topic in The Campfire
I have a friend who drew a trophy archery bull tag in 10 a few years ago, he went to extremes with scent control. He went as far as going on a vegan diet 6 weeks before his hunt then switched to a vegetarian diet 3 weeks before his hunt. Shaved off all his hair except his eye brows. His wife said when he would bust butt it didn't even stink (I never found out) lol. He used sent spray ..... The whole bit. He ended up killing a 380 bull at 20 yards. -
If you know there is only one spot to camp maybe you could un hook your trailer and drive up to your spot and see if someone is there? are your mules to out of shape to go the extra 3 miles?are you the guy that called forest service and had them all towed, if so shame on you,Do you leave your trailer at the trail head and ride off for 3-5 days how are you any different? You guys that think this is a good rule need to wake up I live in 7 west and our law enforcement drove by camps that were here from may untell september and october and never made them move they drove buy them many many times so your 72 hour rule is crap. Seldom Drawn Selom Drawn Seldom Drawn, Leaving a trailer at a trail head is no different than leaving a truck and boat trailer at the marina parking lot while you go out for a excursion on the water. Even if it is for 3-5 days.

Zac, You and your buddies did an exceptional job filming and executing a classic fair chase hunt! Nice Sheep to boot............. Thanks for sharing and good luck on future hunts! JS

I have a Wilson also and they work great. It's just a cradle that holds your phone attached to an magnet antena that mounts to the roof. 12v power. Simple and boost signal as long as you have at least 1 bar. eBay for $100. I have also seen them at sportsmans.

Mabey I came across wrong. Im not saying I agree with the NFS impounding our camps vehicles and trailers when we are out hunting. I'm just think its annoying when you drive through the woods and it looks like a dam trailer park in the middle of the week with half the camps clearly not occupied. But I guess that's what this state has come to with the large population in the valley and the easy retreats that are up north. Muzzle hunter 75 your right about getting out there first and getting your spot. As for leaving a rig and heading into the back country weather on a quad horse or on foot. I think it's totally different than storing your trailer on the woods while you go home for multiple days. You are in the area not 100+ miles away. And yes if the NFS does start enforcing the 72 hr rule and impounding property of hunters or campers or backcountry explorers who are in the area they will have lawsuits on thier hands.

Anyone have pics of bucks from 36A?
AZ_SAWBUCK replied to JNATH26's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
That's a very respectable buck in my book! Nice Coues -
Mulepackhunter, I feel your concern. Typically when we leave a rig its at a trail head or at a pullout close to a trail head. I would think they would look at horse trailers with track leaving in one direction a little different.

That's too bad about your ground blind situation hawkeye. I may be wrong here but the way I read all of this is the national forest officials are trying to eleminate campers and hunters from leaving thier trailers and camps in the woods unattended for multpile days. I know alot of people who leave thier trailers in thier favoriate spot when they leave for the week go to home back to the valley to go to work, then come back the following weekend to hunt or get out of the heat. IMHO I don't think it's right to lay claim on a campsite during the week when you aren't there. If you have to go home for a day or two that's one thing but to leave your rig unattended for 5 days I think is being a little selfish with everyone's land. Everyone should have a fair chance to find a decent camp site. There are plenty of places to store trailers close to Flag, Payson, Prescott, and Showlow when you leave for multiple days.

Those binos are pretty sweet! Since you went down in power on binos will you be carrying a spotting scope as well?

That is so true. Can't have just one. Looks like a Trophy room in progress to me!
