Don't take a sidearm. One of the wardens stopped me one time and asked if I had one. Fortunately I did not, but asked why. It has been awile and I don't remember the exact penalty, but recall it was pretty steep.

I haven't been in several years since the fire did major damage to the fishing there. I also use to go to a place that required a good 4WD vehicle to access, but that has been graded/plowed and as a result has been over fished. I have always bought my permits at the San Carlos Apache Tribe Recreation and Wildlife in Peridot. They have been very helpful to to me in the past with both hunting and fishing permits. I'll list their website below. It contains some good info. http://www.scatrecreation.org/

Now that my kids are starting to reach hunting age, they will be serving as my pack goats for the foreseeable future.

Looking to sell my Razor 10x42s. I just got them back from Vortex today where they serviced and cleaned the binos. They also replaced the lenses as they found small scratches, so brand new glass. Asking $900 Thanks

Anyone ever compared these to the Vortex Razors?

You might also consider a condo or cabin in Show Low/Pine Top. A little bit further out, but you could probably save some money. My brother-in-law owns and rents out this place. Probably a 25 minute drive to the unit. http://www.vrbo.com/500199

Next Months Raffle Item....From The Arizona Deer Association....Updated...

I'll have to clear it with the wife, but I may be in for 2. -
I put my son, wife, and I each of different credit cards so I would know who was drawn based upon the card that got hit. My son's card was hit. We put him in for unit 1 early rifle bull (1st choice) and unit 1 December cow (second choice). So it is possible that the stars might have aligned and he could have drawn a unit 1 early rifle bull tag with his 2 points. Nonetheless, we are planning on hunting cows in December.

Speaking of ADA. I have never been to one of these banquets but have always had interest in going to one. If anyone is thinking about putting together a table group or enhanced table group, let me know. Thanks -
Found it and got some. Thanks

I'm in need of a good honest repairman for some work on my Ranger. I really don't like dealing with most dealerships, not to mention their prices. I do about 95% of my own maintenance, but need some help that is a little beyond my current knowledge and skills. Thanks

My wife was chastised and belittled by the owner Randy. No excuse for his behavior. -

Ross outdoors is probably closer to you. I've heard nothing but good things. On the other hand, I had a really disappointing experience with Archery HQ and won't ever go back or recommend them to anyone. -
The audacity and selfishness of those POS fathers trying to get their kids away from the video games and into the outdoors!

I certainly don't mean to offend by this post, but online applications aren't going away. I must admit, I don't understand all the mistrust with the online application. There certainly are problems with the system, but it seems to me that AZGFD has found ways to correct for bank and credit card issues. Also, the deadline, for reasons I disagree with, always gets extended when the site goes down. While I'm sure there are examples out there, I'm unaware of anyones application getting rejected because of an online glitch. I, on the other hand, have personally had a paper app rejected before because something was filled out incorrectly. At least by doing it online the computer will generally warn me of missed fields or errors on the app. Maybe it is because my job involves working almost entirely in an online world, or because I grew up with computers that I don't share many of the distrust issues shared here. IMO the bottom line is that the online app is not going away. If anything, I would guess that we are within a generation or two of seeing the end of paper apps, as they are more time consuming and costly for AZGFD. The whole discussion reminds me of my studies as a child of the early days of the automobile. Early cars were mistrusted as they were expensive and very prone to breaking down. A common saying at the time by those passing by broken automobiles on horseback was "Get a horse" and many believed the automobile would never be able to replace the horse as a primary means of travel.

If it is like past years, I'm guessing about 90% - 95% of the charges have happened. There will be a few more next week, but it is mostly done. I'm not sure about that. Last year, once they started, hits were happening throughout the day and into the evening hours. My buddy's card got hit at almost 9pm last year. When I got hit for antelope several years ago, it was day two at 730pm. So far this go around, there was a burst of charges in the morning, then it seemed to have slowed, then ended early afternoon. Just seems different. I'm assuming Monday will bring more hits. Or, I'm in denial and trying to convince myself otherwise to ease the pain! Hope you are right, but I'm not optimistic. I've never drawn if it didn't come through with the first group of charges.
