That rookie qb better be ready by week 3 or 4 not the end of the season! They have Bradford and Stanton, that ought to get them till at least week 5 or 6.
-
It is March, not August. Maybe I'm a homer, but I don't think he offensive line will look the same in August as it does now.
-
I believe the plan is to trade up in the draft and get one of the big names. The reason they got Bradford is to be a placeholder while giving the rookie someone to learn under until he is ready to take over towards the end of the season. In the mean time they will still have someone who can get Larry the ball and is a better option than Stanton. Bradford is definitely not the long term plan or it wouldn't have been a 1 year deal. If they get the rookie they want, it might not be a bad move, we will see.

Put me on the list if others fall through. Though I doubt I have much of a chance.

Anyone able to explain why there are left over tags for a lot of popular elk hunts, including hunts my kids had in their top two choices and didn't draw, but received bonus points? I don't get it. Maybe we gave AZGFD a little to much credit for this draw too soon. https://s3.amazonaws.com/azgfd-portal-wordpress/azgfd.wp/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/08114932/leftovers-antElk.pdf

Congratulations! Couldn't happen to a better guy.

Wow, this took a turn!

I know this is asked in sarcasm, but I sure do!

Gotta find some humor in this.

I can certainly appreciate and agree with a lot of what you are saying, but I hope you are being sincere about the "coveted left over cow tag". Might not be a big deal to you, but to a young first time hunter (and many others) who have been waiting 10 years, it is the world. Not to mention that it is disrespectful to the animal to discount it like that.Whoever these kids parents were should have taken the draw more seriously and had their cards ready to go if their kids were so excited to hunt. I'm also pretty sure the cow doesn't give a damm whether you call it a coveted cow or a ugly cow or stupid cow or whatever you please. It's a cow elk for crying out loud. No I wasn't being sincere about the coveted leftover cow tag. A kid is still gonna get to hunt it so hopefully they appreciate it and have a good time. It's like 5 tags of several thousand cow tags so 99.9999999% of the tags got given to who it was supposed to. The leftover tags obviously didn't get picked for you guys because you would have gotten the tag since your cards are good. Think of it this way the tag didn't go to someone that obviously didn't care enough to have their card ready to go. Now it will go to someone excited about it in the leftover draw. And they get to keep their points! Doesn't get better than that. I think we are light years from being on the same page with what we are talking about, but I do understand what you are saying.

I read guys losing their minds, figured there was gonna be like 100 leftover tags per unit. I look, 1 tag. Lmao It is hilarious until your kid put in for that hunt as a first or second choice and were instead given a bonus point. Not saying it was my daughter who would have gotten that tag, but there is no good excuse for there to be a "left-over" tag if someone who put in for it didn't draw. It this case it is probably well over 1000 that put in for most of these and didn't get drawn.even if they decide to figure out who deserved the tag next in line all of your kids are still gonna get a bonus point and the one kid is gonna get a tag. Only difference is this way whichever kid ends up getting it doesn't have to use points to get it. You guys are still missing the point. Whoever gets it as a left over, even if it is my kid, is not the person who rightfully should have gotten that tag. Someone (once again, I am not saying it was me or my crew) got screwed over. How are you guys okay with that?

No, they dont. When you apply for a leftover tag and are not successful they just send your envelope back return to sender without cashing the check. Thanks for the clarification. It doesn't make me any less annoyed with AZGFD. I believe that in most forums I am a big supporter of AZGFD. While that won't change, this aggravates me. Someone or someone's kid was next in line and should have gotten those tags.
-
I am not a conspiracy theory guy, but here is a thought. I suspect a lot of people will apply for these "left-over" tags. Correct me if I am wrong, but don't you still pay $13 a pop in application fees for left over tags, even if you aren't drawn? That ought to be a nice little chunk of money for AZGFD. I'm all for AZGFD getting funding, but not like this!
-
Nope! Between my family and buddies I know of at least 10 different people who put in for those tags on single person apps and didn't draw. There is no way there could be left over tags for many of those hunts without a major screw up.
-
Yep, it is official for me.

If you used a different email address on your app than the one on your portal, it won't show your results in your portal and you will have to wait for the general release.

Two young boys had a great start to their 2018 hunting. We were out with some friends glassing from opposite knobs (about 1400 yards apart) to cover more area. About mid-morning we got the message that our other party had a herd come through the drainage below them and dropped a boar at about 150 yards. We knew the others wouldn't go far, so we hustled to them. After a few minutes we found a lone pig about 700 yards away. As we watched it and were coming up with a plan, we saw two others slowly working their way back to the downed pig. Sure enough they came right to him. They were lined up one behind the other, not giving Draysen a shot. As we waited for our shot, they bedded down with the dead one (see first video). While Draysen kept the gun on them and ready, I threw rocks hoping to make enough noise to get them up. After a few unsuccessful minutes we decided to give a few hard blows on the call (see second video). Despite my terrible calls to start the sequence, that did the trick, and Draysen squeezed one into his opening at 170 yards.

You can do it online and then attend the 1 day live class/field day. This would fulfill the same requirement as attending the multiple live courses and would qualify you for the lifetime bonus point. Anymore, they recommend adults do the online option as it leaves more classroom space for kids, which is what the classes are structured towards. I have sat through the classroom version three different times, myself many years ago and recently with my kids. I would HIGHLY recommend the online option for an adults . For kids, I definitely suggest the full classroom version. I believe they will get a lot more out of it.

Wow! A lot of great stuff. Huge congratulations to your family.

Till we start seeing posts of "my card got hit". I'm expecting to see my wife pull her first elk tag. Hopefully we get a cow tag for my will be 10 year old daughter. Anything else is a shot in the dark. Going to be a long 3 weeks. People are already getting a little testy in here... Everyone in?

They sent out NUMEROUS email saying it had been changed. So if you applied online, you had to leave an email address, meaning you got the update. There was also a check box on the application that YOU HAD TO CHECK to proceed stating you were aware the update deadline had been changed to 3/1. There are also updated regs on the AZGFD site. Anyone who complains has no one to fault but themself. It was also discussed on her ad nausaem. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/77718-just-how-much-do-you-trust-your-bankfinancial-institution/page-3?hl=deadline Not so sure about the numerous emails part...i applied online and never received a single email. Im cool with it, i knew when the update date was so no issues, but if i didnt get an email Im sure a lot of others didnt either. I received four different emails.

Unfortunately, it appears that this will not be the year I need a new bow. But here is a bump for you.
