Patrick congratulations buddy I couldn't be more happy for any one!!!! I am glad I had the privilege of meeting you and getting to share this hunt with you! Let me tell all of ya that this guy earned this bull!!! He met me every morning at 5 and kept up with me stride for stride as we attempted to stay in front or at least up with the bulls. He slept alone on the ground every night only eating MRE's. Sat water from noon till dark every day and met me every morning with a new enthusiasm to get after it!!! There were good stalks and bad stalks, I got us busted multiple times and had us close on others but regardless he enjoyed every attempt we made to close the deal. Not to mention I don't see 6 bears a year in 3c and he did it in 6 days!!!! Once again congrats buddy you earned him thanks for letting me share all your firsts,,,

Anyone catch that garbage on the SNL Thursday night political update last night? I do enjoy SNL from time to time, but the whole episode was devoted to Romney bashing. Not a thing on Obama. Wish they would just come out and openly admit they are in the Obama tank.
It's sad but I think a very large chunk of the voting public bases their opinions and decions off of this garbage rather than actual facts. Big part of the reason the country is in the crapper.
I heard that Letterman devoted a good chunk of time to Romney bashing last night as well.......I don't watch that trash but you are right......people listen to that junk and drink the kool aide............
I agree 100% that it sad that people base their voting choice on garbage/comedy vs. facts. No doubt, the average person is very ignorant regarding the actual facts.
(Frankly, I place myself in that category sometimes depending on the specific political issue. I'm quite ignorant sometimes.....)That being said, I absolutely LOVE watching the comedy shows. SNL, Colbert, Stewart, etc..... So what if the whole episode was pounding on Romney? It's a COMEDY show!!!
Do you think they should be censored??? Pure entertainment for me, and funny as heck IMO!

It is comedy and yes it can be entertaining. Unfortuantly to many people aren't smart enough to decipher entertainment from the truth. The writters producers, etc. from these "entertainment" shows know exactly what they are doing.

Awesome bull! I love the width on those thirds. I've done the shot right over the back myself with a much less favorable final result. It still haunts me and probably always will. Glad you were able to maintain composure and get that great second shot off.

Beautiful Bulls! You certainly put in the practice before hand to make sure you were prepared for the shot. Glad you had the backup bow handy. I'm a unit 1 hunter myself and love to see pictures of the big bulls in there. Great unit, but it can be tough to get away from the other hunters. To many roads.

Seriously m77??? Carry it in, set it up, take it down, and carry it out in the same day you plan to hunt. You might as well pee in every square inch of the area and bring a boom box to crank music all day cause you aren't going to see much in the way of game.
How many new laws are you looking to have added?

What you mention here is one of my many favorite things about this site, hunters, and hunting in general. Fellow enthusiasts coming together to share knowledge and skill passed down from generations of hunters to keep an awesome sport and way of life alive and pure.

A few years back my bro in law had a tag in 6A and we had a tree stand up in a tree on a good tank--went to hunt it and there was a guy in the stand but it wasn't my tree stand--we asked him what he did with our stand and he said he had no idea what we were speaking of--mark has a temper and he told the guy to come down and get whats coming to him--i told Mark we need to find out what is up and i asked the guy if he was hunting alone or if he hired an outfitter--he was hunting with an outfitter by the name of USO--and he was very sorry if they had done something with our stand--so Mark and i backed off and waited for USO to come get their boy--when the guys showed up Mark asked him what he did with his stand and the guy said his boss took it down and threw it in the hole--Mark said well--you are going swimming and get my tree stand! He did and Mark made him get the stand out of the tree and throw it in the hole--he did.

Yea, he is a good guy--6th degree black belt in Marshall Arts and pretty much doesn't like people messing with other peoples stuff. I have to say that i was happy to see that USO had signs up stating they were hunting this area as firewood was hard to find and those signs burned very, very well! LOL!

Talked to Stan "huntjunkie" this morning. Things are really picking up for them. They found a monster last night and another this morning while looking for the bull from last night. No shot opportunities yet. I'll leave the rest of the story for him.

I have to agree with just about eveyone posting in here (sorry m77, I think you may have temporarily lost your mind). The worst thing to do would be to pass more BS laws and give additional power and authority to an organization that already has to many a BS rules and regulations. Hunters can work it out themselves within the rules on the books.

I currently have the Monarch on my .300 RUM but have been thinking about switching it out with the Viper to get a little more magnification. Anyone have any thoughts between the two?

Not only should Mitt continue to stand by his comments but he needs to push them harder and really call the left out on it. Americans would be more shocked to know that his comments were true. Not that the media would allow that to happen.

Do you have any more details? How far was the bull from where he was shot ? where was the hit? How far from the bull had the hunter looked? Just curious, I know lots of us have had this happen but never find the bull.
The shot was hard quartering away and very low. We were already back to town when the hunter called so I'm not to sure how far he had gone. Dustin had the guy explain the bull, location, arrow, broadhead, & fletch before he would tell him where it was!

Awesome mount! Getting a bobcat is one of my hunting goals this winter. Haven't had much luck with the bobcats thus far.
