I've posted this before but at Randalls gun shop on 51st and Olive, there is a varmit calling trophy in there with Del's name on it. I met him a couple of times. I've heard a couple of the old timers say that some of those coyotes should have been checked for tire marks with those contest, then they would laugh.

Bob Riazzi passed in 2017. I believe that's the year.
-
That doesn't always work. It's the FFL's choice to take the CCW or run a background check. I have a CCW and my pickup was delayed one time for 3 days.

The only Del Re store I remember was on Central either Southern or Baseline. Pretty much had to be packing to get to the front door. There was a Mexican resturant in that area La Casa Rivera that I was in a couple of times. The chili's there would just about take the hide off your tongue, mine anyway.

Phx Shooters Supply was a couple of doors down from Phx Fishing Supply on 16th St. Wasn't that a AZ Sportsman on Camelback and 7th either St or Ave?
-
He would have been the same time as Charles Askins Jr. Your mentor wasn't a taxidermist was he.
-
George Parker the border patrolman that was known for his Coues trophies.
-
Askins just to eliminate him, and maybe Parker for the win?

The story is told that there was a Marine Engineer Reserve unit in Phx, that cleared the land for the public range, I was told that Manuel Levas owned a bar in the Peoria area, from what I was told that Manuel showed up with enough booze to keep those Marines liquored up to finish the range.

No don't know the date. Kneeling left to right was told his name was Butterfield, don't know for sure, next unknown Marine, 3rd is Ben Avery, 4th is Bob Jensen, pretty sure he's the only one living. 1st standing Roy Dunlap, next Dick Thompson, 3rd is unknown, 4th is L.E. Lou Ronninger, Lou was the high civilian at Perry in 63, I believe, next is Milt Hood, founded the Tucson Three Points range, Tucson Rifle Club, last guy's last name was Cannon, was called Pappy Cannon, was told that the Black Canyon range could have been named after him as well.
-
Unfortunately I'm not sure about him, Tony, or the first two kneeling. I'm pretty sure that there's only one of these guys still living. The last guy kneeling is Bob Jensen.
-
You are correct it is at Camp Perry. Roy Dunlap is the first standing on the left.
-
You are correct kneeling 3rd from left is Ben Avery.

PO Ackley was a gunsmith, but he's not in this pic.
-
Here is a blast from the past. One of these guys started a range, one a range was named after him, one was a gunsmith who wrote at least one book on the subject, one owned a gun store that is discussed in this thread. What's your guess kneeling left to right 1-4. Standing left to right 1-6. Sorry the pic isn't the best.

The old timers told me that there was a 100 club at one time. From what I understand around the Tucson area there was a club where you had to take a Coues over a 100 inches to be in the club, and whoever took the largest buck over 100 was the president for that year. Anyone else hear of it?

It was Bohm's something. I was in there maybe 2 times at best. I believe Jensens turned over to the Arizona Sportsman, which in turn went belly up, and the building now is 2nd Amendment, at least the last I was in there, that's what it was. I know when it was Jensens there was some good Coues heads hanging in the store. I don't know if they were Bob's or not. Last time I asked someone that lives in that area if they were still in the store, he said yes.
-
I still have an old box of Sierra bullets with a price tag from Smittys. I think in the early 70's there was a store on Van Buren if I remember right it was called Bohms I believe.

My Thanks to all, who put on some sort of a uniform and a pair of boots and served!

That's cold Airborne, but fitting!

I had an older Remington 700 in .280 for sale on GB one time. I had about 3 people contact me and ask if the barrel was stamped .280 Rem/ 7mm Express, guess they are worth something to a collector.

Boddington has another book out with Bob Robb, Deer Hunting from Coast to Coast, that I thought was a good read.
