From what I understand the early Winchester model 12's were the same way. Hold the trigger and shuck away.

Field & Stream and Outdoor Life Maybe No longer
10Turkeys replied to Outdoor Writer's topic in The Campfire
I bought one of JOC's books a couple years ago, when I opened it up there was one of his letters that he wrote to another writer named Ben East. How it got it that book I haven't a clue. A bud of mine was a big Jack fan, so I gave it to him. -

Not I. Straight to Carmichael. When he retired I let my subscription lapse. When you go into Brunos there is a pic of him and Lester at a Bench rest match somewhere. -

Two weeks ago 3 people tested positive at the place where I work. Last Thursday 1 of them went to the hospital, went into cardiac arrest and died. It is real.

A Skeet house with a piece of wood in the upper.

I always thought that a nap was part of being in the woods.

There is GunsAmerica also.

I think a few people have tried that and the big buck ended up being a decoy from G&F. The last time I saw it at the AZ State Fair exhibit, it had been shot quite a few times.

COAL and OAL question 30-30
10Turkeys replied to bowhunter-tw's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I try to measure the center of the case when I measure. What you want to do is stay consistent, what you do with one case do to all. If you have a 3 die Cowboy set, most of those cowboy loads are lead, a little different between a jacketed bullet and a lead bullet. Check your instructions that are with the die. -
COAL and OAL question 30-30
10Turkeys replied to bowhunter-tw's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
First off your cases on this diagram has a max length of 2.039. This is a SAAMI spec, and I'm assuming that you haven't had your chamber measured, so your chamber might be shorter or longer. When you fire your case it will grow just like your finger nails do, so they need to be trimmed. Letting them go past the specified length causes a problem by the brass getting to far into the chamber area, when the case if fired the brass is not allowing the proper space the bullet needs to clear the chamber thus causing pressure. When you are loading for a case that you are going to crimp and they all haven't been trimmed to the same length they are probably not crimped in the same place on the cannalure, but with the 30-30 it won't make that much of a difference. As far as a factory round measuring less than your reloads, it probably wasn't the same bullet, so the cannalure probably wasn't in the same spot. If your rounds cycled through your gun ok, then give them a try. As your shooting and cycling them into your chamber check your bullets and see if they went further into the case, if not your crimping them ok. That 2.550 is the max length. -
There are three classes of levergun silhouette. I shot it once or twice years ago, then you started on chickens or which ever animal and kept on shooting til you were done with no break between relays. It was June or July when I shot the match with a Winchester 94 20 inch barrel, could have cooked meat on the barrel after it was over. It is run different now. If you want more info go to Rio's web site and the Match Directors info is there.

When I was younger, I used to sleep on the floor of a tent, with age came a cot, now it's an inflatable mattress. The one that's a foot or so off the floor. They are cheap and more comfortable than a cot. The only downside to them is that once in awhile they lose a little air and you have to reinflate them, usually around 2 AM.

How to organize a first time reloading bench??
10Turkeys replied to bowhunter-tw's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I'm assuming that you have an RCBS Uniflow powder meter? If so there should be a Couple different plastic fittings where the powder comes out of the meter. Match one of those fittings with your case mouth and there you go. Also unless your using some sort of a ball powder that meter can throw up to a full grain or more +/- per your wanted charge, especially with stick powder ie IMR-4350. At least that's what I've found with mine, even with a powder baffle. -
How to organize a first time reloading bench??

Here is how I mounted mine. I bought this bench from Sportsmans Wharehouse about 12-14 years ago, haven't seen any after that. -
Let me be the first to squelch any rumors that, that is Edge holding the lantern in the pic!

If we are going to offend the Liberal Nancy's, let's throw this one in too!

No problem. Couple weeks ago Wife got a call to ask if we would allow a Trump sign in the yard, said yes but haven't seen one yet. The road that you turn into to get to the house had a slow Joe sign up, but I don't think it lasted a Couple hours before someone took it away.

I think that's a pretty good looking sign!

If you could PM the GPS cords, I can take a closer look and verify the colors. Years ago in 36B, I took a grey colored Coues and my bud shot one that was red like that, only it's whole body was red. I'll try to get him to send a pic and I'll post it.
