    Larry Willis Collet Die

My buds Remington 700 and my Ruger 77 do the same thing. I don't shoot my Ruger that much and neither does he, so we just end up getting new brass.

    Local Paper Buck

I met him a couple of times, he told me one time he shot a Coyote and picked it up by it's hind legs and was taking it back to his truck, he said that Coyote kept getting lighter and lighter and Del looked down and the Coyote was still alive walking on his front feet.

What kind of brass are you using? When you seat the primer on the third firing, how tight is it?

Last time I was in Randalls there was an old trophy there from a calling contest, don't know if it's still there or not. One of the names that was on it was Del Western, the horse shoeing school guy.

In the 70's the Chandler Arizonian used to have an outdoor article in it every now and then. The last I remember anything in the Phx paper was from Bob Hirsch, that was probably 20 years ago. I do remember in the 80's there was a full page ad for a pigeon shoot, wouldn't see that anymore.

Thoughts on flying with a rifle?

I'm certainly not a world traveller with a firearm, but I've flown a few times, but it's been a few years, so maybe a few things have changed. When you check your luggage in, tell them you have a gun, most airline employees will see the case a mile away, you will have to fill out a form stating it isn't loaded, and a copy has to go inside the case, and the bolt has to be out of the gun. I keep my bolt in a plastic bag to keep any grease off the inside of the gun case. Then you go to a TSA agent, some places swab the outside of the case and some want to see inside the case. Like Paleo said above upon arrival your gun should go to the baggage office, but about 50% of the time mine came off with the luggage, so it's probably a good idea to have your case marked. I've used a key lock and a combo lock without any problems. One last thing, I would get a decent case for your gun, there are a lot of gun haters out there!

    and

I haven't shot Doves for years, but it seemed every year about three days before the season opened, a storm would come in and push the WW's south. In the early 70's we used to to Alma School Rd. and about Ocotillo, we called it the Russian Front, a lot of hunters and a lot of birds. I think 15 was the limit then.

    SOLD

Can't really tell from the pics, but it looks like the objective bell of the scope is laying on the barrel. Is it?

    Trigger tech special slam fire

I don't know anything about a Trigger Tech, but it sounds like the sear engagement needs to be adjusted, should be in your instructions with the trigger. Upon checking your trigger via google, it appears that there is only one external screw for the weight of the trigger pull. I would call their customer service and see what they say.

Thoughts on use of point guard

My thoughts are the person who has the tag, thus supposedly paid for it, has a right to do with the tag what he/she wants.

    My first Coues

    Congrats!
  18. I emailed Ruger to ask them their torque specs in inch pounds on their action screws for a wood stocked 77 Mark ll. Their reply was 95 in lbs for the front screw. To me that would just about split the stock if not rip the head off the screw. Winchester and Browning recommend 35 and Remington recommends 30-35.

    Pinpointing downed animal

Old school way with a map and compass and a pencil. Find three known locations, shoot an azimuth with your compass to them, convert magnetic north to grid north, draw a back azimuth on your map from those 3 locations, where those lines intersect that is your location. Shoot another azimuth to where you think the animal went down, convert magnetic to grid north again, plot the 180 azimuth on your map to your location, then go get it. Or I'm sure one of those newfangled GPS units will do the same thing. Or make a mental note of where it went down, walk over to the spot and if it's not there lay down a marker of some sorts on the ground then walk in a circular pattern til you find it.

    What’s on the menu?

First night is always a rib eye with potatoes. Then maybe spaghetti, or Cornish game hens or a couple of chickens, maybe a pork loin, sometimes beef back ribs, maybe a beef roast stew, couple years ago it was antelope roast stew (didn't last long). The steaks are BBQed, the rest of the meat is done in a Dutch oven.

    22 super jet

Don't know squat about a .22 super jet, but it looks like they are formed from a .256 winchester case, from what Google tells me.
