Can't really tell from the pics, but it looks like the objective bell of the scope is laying on the barrel. Is it?

Trigger tech special slam fire
10Turkeys replied to Riflehunter's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I don't know anything about a Trigger Tech, but it sounds like the sear engagement needs to be adjusted, should be in your instructions with the trigger. Upon checking your trigger via google, it appears that there is only one external screw for the weight of the trigger pull. I would call their customer service and see what they say. -
My thoughts are the person who has the tag, thus supposedly paid for it, has a right to do with the tag what he/she wants.

I emailed Ruger to ask them their torque specs in inch pounds on their action screws for a wood stocked 77 Mark ll. Their reply was 95 in lbs for the front screw. To me that would just about split the stock if not rip the head off the screw. Winchester and Browning recommend 35 and Remington recommends 30-35.

Thanks!

Old school way with a map and compass and a pencil. Find three known locations, shoot an azimuth with your compass to them, convert magnetic north to grid north, draw a back azimuth on your map from those 3 locations, where those lines intersect that is your location. Shoot another azimuth to where you think the animal went down, convert magnetic to grid north again, plot the 180 azimuth on your map to your location, then go get it. Or I'm sure one of those newfangled GPS units will do the same thing. Or make a mental note of where it went down, walk over to the spot and if it's not there lay down a marker of some sorts on the ground then walk in a circular pattern til you find it.

First night is always a rib eye with potatoes. Then maybe spaghetti, or Cornish game hens or a couple of chickens, maybe a pork loin, sometimes beef back ribs, maybe a beef roast stew, couple years ago it was antelope roast stew (didn't last long). The steaks are BBQed, the rest of the meat is done in a Dutch oven.

Understanding Generic Earplugs
10Turkeys replied to alexthomas1's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I thought generic ear plugs was the cotton from a cigarette butt. -
Don't know squat about a .22 super jet, but it looks like they are formed from a .256 winchester case, from what Google tells me.

In my mind there is hunting, killing and down right murder. Hunting is when you work your butt off for an animal, no matter how big the bones are. Killing is like this guy did, and murder is like resting your rifle on some fence post shooting something in a pen like Uncle Billy's dried up milk cow or a canned hunt if you will.

Heat mirage and hot barrel on accuracy
10Turkeys replied to broadhead's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
When was the last time the barrel was cleaned with some sort of copper removing agent? -
Just ordered the book! Thanks!

Let's not leave out time!

The book that I read was also signed. I think that there were so few books printed that they were all signed.

I read a book a few years back about the Lee brothers, who hunted lions in southern AZ. In the book it mentioned when the last Grizzly was taken in AZ, but I can't remember the year. This is the book, just googled it up. I don't think I'll be buying a copy soon.

Heat mirage and hot barrel on accuracy
10Turkeys replied to broadhead's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
If they were grouping and now there not, something is wrong. I would check all the screws, action , scope rings and bases. -
Cant wait for deer season
10Turkeys replied to desertbowhunter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Nice Deer! Personally I got tired of tag soup, so I sauteed mine in butter, a little garlic and a splash of OJ.
