When I first started shooting Silhouette, there was a guy that was shooting that was doing the drilling for Schneider, Gary would pay him in cast off barrels, just about everybody on the line was shooting a Schneider barrel, not so popular anymore. Don't know about now but back then Tubb was shooting a Schneider barrel, I was told that he ordered them ten at a time, and this was before he was making and marketing his own guns, so he was ordering them for personal use. -

You can ad Hart and PacNor to the barrel list, and Bob Brackney to the list of smiths. -
Keep in mind it is a Government place. A parking spot was made and there is a no parking sign there. No hydrant is near it. Take a guess where?

Don't know about a gas gun, but at one time some gun hack wrote that with a .308 there was little velocity difference between barrel lengths. At that time I had a Remington 788 with a 20 inch barrel and a Remington 700 Varmit with a 24 in barrel and a chronograph. Tested them both with the same loads and sure enough no difference.

Couldn't get them to group in a .260 or .270. No hunting experience with them. -
