A few years back Savage Arms was weasing away in bankruptcy court going down hard, Ron Colburn took over and turned the company around and between a Savage and a Tikka they were one of the best shooting out of the box rifles you could get. Now Savage is owned by ATK, which owns several shooting/outdoor company's. They have had two layoffs that I know about and with that I'm sure some very good employees hit the bricks, with that maybe some things aren't the way they were. I owned a 111 in a 6.5x284 that shot lights out and I currently own a .260 that shoots ok. Good luck to you Sir, hope your gun shoots great and hope you get your Elk!

I would have went I Detest Game and Fish. Not sure of the percentage of people who go to court with out a Lawyer and win, but its my guess it's very low. I did it once with a divorce and didn't get what I wanted, but I went in with the thought of rolling dem bones and if I win I win if I lose no big deal, wasn't going to change my breathing pattern. Put up an argument made the Judge think about it for a couple of days anyway.

I went to traffic school a couple of years back for busting a red light. The instructor went around the room asking what the offense was that brought the person into the class. I swear I was the only guilty party there, must have been a room full of Clinton supporters cause they were either innocent or wrongfully accused.

The bigger question would be if the Republicans have anyone to go against her and win?

Even though I have an earlier post on this topic, it's my best guess that in over half these places mentioned, there isn't a stray dog or cat within two city blocks.

Bought and sold on Gunsamerica, bought on Gunbroker, no problem with either.

10Turkeys replied to 5guyshunting's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have a can of H-380 that I picked up before I went into the Army in Jan of 78, so I'm thinking the 76-77 time frame. Used some of it about 5 years ago, everything went bang. -
For what it is worth, I have a bud that shoots nothing but 7-08's, hard to find Rem or Win brass right now, he got some Prvi brass, said that it is like military type thick but shoots ok.

I have a Dillon Electronic scale that I've had for years, works better using a 9 volt battery rather than the plug in the wall power adapter, very sensitive around any kind of a fan, especially ceiling fans.

Hunting 36B ,October vs. Early November , can you give some feedback
10Turkeys replied to NYAZHunter's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I have hunted both the Oct hunt and the first Nov hunt in 36B many times. The draw back for the Oct hunt is the heat, it's basically a sweat hunt. The first Nov hunt has been lined up with my off time at work for the past three years, so I have gone on it. The Deer have definetly been pressured by then and most of your bigger smarter Deer are a little harder to hunt then. -
About the only thing you can say or hope for in a situation like this is that you hope he is an only child and that he's sterile. Right there is a gene pool that needs extra chlorine in it.

Thai, Yuphas Thai Kitchen on McClintock and Elliot, couple places away from dollar theatre, food is good and the place appears to be clean. Thai House on Power and Southern. Food is pretty good not a place for a first time date unless you don't want a second. Korean-Hodori on Dobson and Southern. Food is good and place is clean. Don't do Chinese or to much Japanese food.

I'm with the too bad so sad crowd.

Well I guess it gets down to what is fair. I have heard two versions. If life was fair Elvis would still be alive and all the impersonator's would be dead. Fair is where a farmer takes his pig to win a blue ribbon.

Rem 700 BDL is SPF.

Like wise Rossislider! Start with IMR-4350 powder and a Federal 215 primer and a bullet of your choice and good luck with the gun and your hat search. I personally think that a blue and red hat would look better though!

Tikka is sold pending funds.

This is my last post on this subject. If you have a .270 whatever sighted in at two inches high at one hundred yards (roughly a two hundred yard zero), and it drops eight inches at 517 yards, your gun would be on the verge of blowing up or your bolt would have to be pounded open with a sledge. I have access to the Silhouette range at Rio Salado and Ben Avery if would like to show any interested party's how flat your gun shoots we can arrange a day to do it.
-
If you go back to your original post, you mention .270 WSM twice nothing about a .270 Win. I'd be waiting to hear from the US Ordinance Dept. if I had something that shot that flat. I've been shooting out to five hundred meters (547 yards) for over twenty years and never seen anything shoot that flat.

Where I hunt in 36B there are a lot of scrub oak trees, not every year but when there are acorns on those trees those Coues eat them like candy, which makes their meat taste even better. IMHO. Noticed nobody has Javelina for there number one choice, I've choched down a couple of them, there isn't enough BBQ sauce, onions and garlic to make them edible. The last few years my Bud has made sausage out of them, mix enough pork and spices with them and they aren't that bad.

About three years ago, read the sticky post Pig Logic. Don't remember who posted the comment about if the pigs leave an area and if they are not to frightened they will return. That worked for me two years ago and this year after the herd ran off. Just sat there not making any noise not using a call of any kind and about half hour to forty five minutes later they came back. Thanks.
