Tommy, How full is your plate this season? I am interested in using you for the Unit 17 first rifle deer hunt. Specifically your scouting service. Let me know. Eric -
I was just curious who is going to be at the Arizona Antelope banquet Saturday? I'll be one of the guys in back helping with the accounting. Come back and say hello if you get a chance. I hope it is another great night for Arizona's Antelope. Eric

100 Grain G5 Montec's for me. They fly well and the last bull I shot went a total of 30 yards before going down. That being said stick with whats working for ya. Eric -
Unit 17 deer for us. I hope there are a few bucks left in there. Congrats to all that drew. Hopefully the AZ draw will be successful for everyone. (Except for those who put in for my sheep units.) e.s.

I finally got through. We drew a 17 deer tag. Carp country. No luck on archery elk or sheep. Good luck to everyone else. Any 17 insight would be greatly appreciated. e.s.

I made it out to do some shed hunting and scout for spring turkey this weekend. This is the first time my son was able to join me. As if it wasn't already a perfect day in the woods with my father, my son, and my dog Jager we found this brownie and saw all kinds of turkey sign. As it lay Pics with the team (my dad was behind the camera) What a great day in the woods! I can't wait to do it again. Eric

I went out Saturday to do some scouting. It was a great trip. My dad, my son, and my dog all in the woods together. We found quite a few tracks, scratching spots, and turkey turds. Twice we got out of the truck to look around because it looked good for turkey and found sign within 10 yards of the truck. I put the camera out and hope to check it this weekend. I'll keep everyone posted. Here are a few pics. Turkey Tracks Scratching in the Pines The crew with a shed we found while out & about.

Here is a picture of the Osceola that I was fortunate to harvest a couple weeks ago in Florida. Wow there is a lot of birds down there. I have a first hunt unit 7 tag in AZ this spring. I have always hunted 23 here in AZ so 7 is a new challenge. Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. No c/c action so I am distracting myself with Turkey talk. Eric

Its confirmed. My credit card does work, I just wasn't drawn. Thank god for the over the counter archery deer tag.

I hunted with Peace River Outfitters. We flew in to Fort Myers and drove about an hour from there. Birds were talking every day but we had to work to pull Toms away from the hens. The wierdest thing was that I don't remember seeing a single jake. Thanks for the comments we had a blast. One of the guides does archery gator hunts on Lake Okachobee???? I am seriously considering it if I don't draw anything here for the fall. Eric

The guy I got it from has been known to fabricate hunting stories a bit. I did a little research and from what I can see of the license plate in the first pic I would say it is not an Oregon plate. My bad, I should have better verified my info some how. It is a crazy rack though.

I wish I knew more about this one. It was taken by a friend of a friends frend in Oregon this year. I just thought it fit right in with the topic.

Here are a couple more pics from the hunt. Including a nice one with his buck and of course the Swaro's. -
My dad saw this little one while on a hunt in old Mexico. Pretty Cool

I came across a desert Mule Deer during the January season that is certainly worth attempting to pattern. I was curious if anyone knew the approximate home range for desert Mulys? Should I be concentrating on 2 square miles or 20? Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer. -Noworries-

I seem to have misplaced those coordinates. If I come across them you'll be the first to know.

I have a Turkey hunt in Mexico in a couple of weeks. I want to carry my bow for the hunt but I am curious about what it takes to bring a bow across the border. i can't find any info on it. Any insight is appreciated. The last thing I want to do is have to leave too many dollars worth of equipment south of the border.

Thank you all for the feedback. I'll let you know how the hunt goes in a couple of weeks.

hunting with your son/sons
Noworries replied to dogman68's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Coming from the standpoint of a son I can say that the experience is just as rewarding. The time spent in the field with my father is time I would not trade for anything. I can only hope to get the oppertunity to share the same moments with my son some day. Special thanks to fathers everywhere. -
Two Words Mathews Switchback I've shot most out there and nothing compares. Shoot as many as you can before you decide, just don't leave out the Switchback.

Thanks in part to this forum I purchased my first trail cam. I want to know if anyone has any advise on placing it so as to help avoid it being stolen? Are there any locks that are better than others? Do I put it up high where it is more difficult to get to? I have heard that placing them up high effects range? Any tips are appreciated. Hopefully I'll be adding to the great pics soon.
