well the cabin is framed and sheet rocked, but the builder used the wrong pitch trusses. the clearance above the window he plans to hang it over has 78" or 6'6" of clearance. it looks like a ton of room, but the taxi told him that the mount would be 6'6" tall. i just cannot believe that so i was hoping to get a variety of opinions maybe even from a taxi on here.....on a side not this is a problem i someday wish to have. My dad is having a cabin built and also has a bull at the taxidermist. He was waiting to see what the wall dimensions at the cabin would be to tell the taxi what pose to mount the bull in. he has the wall dimensions now and would like to go with a standard pose. my question is, how much wall/roof clearance do you nee for a mature bull. bull is a 6x6 48" wide with 51" main beams...365" total. how tall (ballpark) will the mount be from the bottom of the chest to the highest point of the rack?? so that makes 5 people atleast, just in this thread with less bonus points than myself and robert and many others that drew this coveted tag. and im sure there are many more out there. that being said i CANT STAND the bonus point system. it NEEDS to be fixed. just venting....take it for what its worth.

out of my own curiosity how many points did your friend have when he drew this tag?? i have 18 points and am hoping im getting close to drawing that tag.

Im looking to buy a tripod set up. i thought a used one may be good for my 1st one. looking to spend between $100-$200. ive done a lot of research and its hard for two reasons. 1.... hard to tell online what will work without having your hands on it. 2....im 6'3" and i would like to be able to glass standing up.....I THINK. Ive never had a tripod that i could do that with. Is standing to glass important to you veteran coues hunters? seems like a nice option but i dont think its the be all end all. so far im looking at the slik 330 and 340 set ups. any opinion on those? im open to suggestions. thanks Cody

I found what looks like a decent tripod at sw, its a slik pro 500dx. If I get that can I mount a manfrotto head to it? Specifically the (700rc2)<-- I think thats the model #. Cody

I just looked at the sprint pro......maybe im just not getting it. Im 6'3" thats 75 inches. The slik pro says the max height is 65".....that would put my binos level with my throat.....lower if the legs are splayed out. Am I looking at this measurement wrong? Elkster9 says he is 6'1" or 73 inches.....how would it work for him to stand up and glass? Im a tripod novice so any input is much appreciated...cody

I am looking for a mule deer unit that i can take my wife and a 1st time deer hunter. not looking for honey holes or family secrets.....just suggestions. i would like a unit that would be good for glassing and that has a good shot at getting my wife and friend a shot at a buck. doesnt have to be a huge buck just something with some horn. thanks in advance. Thats the manfrotto by the way. Would the 700rc2 head be compatible with that? Would that be a decent set up?

I bought a Smith and Wesson SW40VE today and got home to an unexpected bill. I NEED to pay this bill. I payed $459 before tax for the gun and just over $500 after taxes. My loss is YOUR gain. Gun is brand new....purchased on 4-5-11 never fired....only taken out of the box twice. The first $400 cash takes it.....I can text you a pic if you want to see it. Cody......call or text me @ 602-999-7684 email me @ codywsmith49@aol.com

Nope.... Now 18 bogus points
-
No elk now 4 bonus pts, no antelope now 18 bonus pts
-
Call hit 2 then 1 and u can find out
-
I will also have 18 "random" numbers in this years antelope draw. According to the odds I have something like a .008% chance of drawing my only choice.....unit 10. But you can bet your bottom dollar there will be a couple guys that draw that tag with just a couple bogus points.
