Keep us posted on the outcome. I know how frustrating things can get and how we can fail to see the obvious. I deal with that but mostly with my truck! Anyhow, I'm curious to find out what the true culprit of your problem is.

Several helicopters were doing touch and go maneuvers on and around Sombrero Butte. Two nights in a row. Pretty good show.

It's the scope. Put another scope on it and watch it hold zero. I had this happen with a Zeiss on a 7mm Rem Mag. Sent it back to factory and they confirmed it was moving internally.

Was out in the hills again this past weekend and got to play around with the Leica 1600 a bit. It reads quickly at dusk or dawn and when it's overcast out. If the sun is blazing, it tends to read the shady hillsides best. This was true even with my old unit though and I believe most rangefinders. On scan mode, I was able to obtain readings out to 2000 yards. Pretty impressive. I have yet to play with the ballistic portion of the unit.
