Sounds like a really fun time. Great idea! I can't make it due to prior commitments in N.M. You all have fun and I mirror TJ, take lots of pics!

That as a relief I bet! Not to jump on your thread but a friend who is superintendent at a golf course had one of his equipment operators get swarmed by a bunch of bees last week. There was a pond nearby and he made a run for it. He still ended up in the hospital! They are a serious threat and for you and your dogs sake, I'm glad they weren't bees! TJ, a friend and I came across a bunch of ladybugs once. They covered tree trunks and there was hundreds of thousands about one inch thick all on top of each other. I ended up calling our resident biologist and she said they were mating I think.

I have heard good things about the Vortex Kaibab 15s. They are a good bang for the buck. Glassing is important, but knowing when and where to glass is more so. You want to increase your chances at seeing bucks and knowing the basics is crucial. I suggest reading "How to Hunt Coues Deer" by Duwane Adams. Its sold here on CW.com and will give you a lot of basic information that will come in handy during your hunt. Also search these forums and you can get a lot of good tips. I used to hunt 35A quite a bit and from what I understand, it has changed a lot. If I were to hunt it again, I would go back to basics and do what I do well. That is glass the correct facing ridges at the right times and glass effectively. Good Luck and welcome to the forum.

Great story. I'm glad you took the time to put it in print. I especially loved your description of the sight below you as you saw the cat in the water. My mind was there with you! Congrats!

Tony, I'm laughing as I type this because my mouth literally started to water as soon as got halfway through the recipe! That sounds delicious and I love capers! I will try that recipe and thanks!

Tony, you were a topic of conversation that day. Actually, it was the shrimp cocktail we were talking about! Wish you would have made it and I echo Ernesto's well wishes on your Mothers condition.
