  1. Hope you get off the mountain safe Amanda. Stalling (uphill) can be a plugged fuel filter. Normally accompanied by high RPMs with no speed increase. Wonder if the leak is around the filter as well? Keep us posted! Glad to hear you got several helping hands.

    Happy 21st Younghunter

Happy Birthday man. Hope you have a memorable one!
  3. All in all an entertaining evening was had. Many good buys last night. People were holding onto their money this year with a few exceptions. The mule deer tag went for $157K! The Coues deer tag I beleve sold for $16K. It was great seeing good friends again and putting faces to names of forum members. The CW table won two rifles again this year. Phil (Cramerhunts) won a Marlin lever action in 338 Marlin Express. Orlin (Azbowhntr) won a Remington bolt in 300 Win Mag. A few of us lost the bids on a couple live auction items, and several folks won nice trips and things in both the live and silent auctions. I'll post pictures up today.

    ****NOT MY HERO****

Good words spoken elkaholic. That IS a nice buck in your avatar. I was actually checking it out before I read your post. Nate, congrats again on a truly fine deer. It's tough to figure out what to do or say when in a situation like yours. Either way, it seems to tick someone off whatever one does. There are MONSTER bucks taken every year that stay under the radar. This thread is an example of why they never come to light. What a way to degrade another hunters euphoria. Sad to see here. I hope you stick around Nate. A record holder that isn't pompous and rude is always good company. Besides, we've seen plenty of those.
  10. Wow, That DOES look really good.

    Any Archaeologists here?

Looks like whomever it was, left their camera case in the wash too!! I'm interested to hear what the sheriff dept says. Thanks for the update!

Here are the pictures... Others that were there that are not shown are Allen Taylor & Jim Mullins (both mods here), Nathan Lacost (sp?), and Jason Lewis...among others.
  14. Now that's a wide buck. I can only imagine how he would look with the tine length of your other buck on the wall. Nice trophy.

    Decent Coues Shed

Nice find. Cool dog too. I love seeing dogs happy and in the woods. About the javalinas, next time, take a Liger. I've heard they are pretty bad ash.

    Any Archaeologists here?

That's pretty cool. A few have touched on points I wanted to make. Sometimes burial grounds were adjacent to river beds. As the creek changed course or grew larger through time, it washed up closer to the remains. As you can see in the picture, you can find these things at curves or elbows in the wash. They are a lot of times that this is exactly the unearthing mode in which it will progress until all is washed down stream. I look for things like this at every wash I walk. I've yet to come across one. My relatives in Mexico used to tell us stories as kids and how many people were buried with gold and treasures. Guess, subconsciously that's why I keep looking! Better get to it! (before the monsoon takes it like others have said)
