    Jaycie's First Big Game Hunt.

First off I want to praise Jaycie again on her TOAD of a buck! !! CONGRATULATIONS JAYCIE !! I can't thank Phil enough for inviting me on his daughters' first ever hunting excursion. I really get a kick out of watching her and seeing how much she looks up to Phil. Needless to say, she wants to be just like Daddy! Jaycie was such a trooper and she was always up beat and just loved being out there! We would see all types of grasshoppers, flowers, "Whayda" bushes, and I even let her look at the full moon through my binos. It was awesome to see our world the way only a little girl was seeing it for the first time. She thought everything was sooo cool! She was so eager to learn about hunting and she was very inquisitive of everything Phil and I were doing. I also gotta say, she spots deer better than some grownups I know. I would spot a buck and as I was explaining to Phil the location to look, she would blurt out "I got it!" As you watch the footage of the buck on the hoof, you'll notice how shaky the camera is. I only salvaged two photos out of all ten I took, and only a small snippet from the almost two minutes of footage I filmed, of the bucks on that hillside. I had a serious case of buck fever! To restate what Phil said, we were both shaking so bad as she was as calm as a cucumber! As I watched everything unfold, everything that could go wrong was tossing around in my head. In this case, everything went perfect...textbook perfect. A very special buck for a very special young lady. Again, thank you for letting me be part of it.
  4. here is a pic that shows the color gradient from orange to yellow better: This is the same font that is used on some of the t-shirts and I love it! What do you all think?
  5. Do not hesitate to invest in a rangefinder that reads well beyond 400 yards. If the unit effectively reads well out to 800 yards on a clear day, then it should hopefully read effectively on a bad day out to 400. What I'm saying is, plan ahead for those conditions and buy something that will still work to your advantage under non perfect situations. Also, just because you don't shoot past 400 yards, doesn't mean you won't glass something up at 650 yards for example, then need to range the animal and other points to plan your stalk effectively. Another thing to consider is angle compensating range finders. Great to have on deep incline/decline shooting situations and for archery. The "top" optic brands do not offer this angle compensating feature. Narrow beam divergence is preffered for more accurate readings.

    New CW Sticker Design...

Doug, I just went out and lifted the rear glass on the camper to look up close. On my ARE, the blacked out portion on the glass is there to hide the hinges etc. There is about a 1 inch transition area from that blacked out portion to the clear glass. This is made up of a dot matrix and the CW sticker ends halfway into this dot matrix strip. I actually used this as a bit of a guide somewhat. Carefull not to follow the actual Dot matrix strip as it's curved on my glass following the lines of my shell and not "straight" across.

    New CW Sticker Design...

Doug, I have a Tacoma as well and also have to look through two sliders and the rear glass. On the rear glass of the shell, the "see through" portion of the glass is short in height. The rest of the glass is just blacked out. The sticker sits on this blacked out portion of the glass and does absolutely nothing to impair my normal visibility that I had before the sticker. Hope that makes sense. (?)

    outdoorsmans packs

I also own and hunt with the Outdoorsmans pack system. I echo Phils' review and would like to add that the long side pockets are perfect for our tripods. Great pack, very well built and is truly adjustable to fit just about anyone.

Pretty good deal on the hunt. The mule deer deal is tough to beat and has a great potential at a monster buck
