That is cool. Great that the hunter wanted to preserve it that way.

Big time congrats! Heck of a bull with some great character!

Sorry to hear and my thoughts and prayers are with his family. He seemed to have been a very generous person.

Donnie, I strongly urge you to go to the next ADA meeting and voice your opinions. More so, for listening at what the issues are that are affecting our right to hunt as we wish, where we want, and how. There are already people on the commission and in the department that are not on our side. This is a disturbing trend I see happening throughout the Southwest. All I am saying is, be careful what you wish for, it just may happen. In ways and to the extent that you never expected. You seem to have a very strong passion and strong voice with your opinion. The ADA could use some new energy. When you take a step back and look at the big picture, things will look a little different I'm sure. Enough that it will scare you, as it does me. Much Regards

She almost got a really good chance at a big bull this morning! A bull was following some cows and stopped right before he got in her lane. She ranged the cows at 35 yards but the bull never followed. Elk are finally starting to rut a bit harder. More bugles today than on her whole hunt.
-
Not much to add from what's already been said. She has been fighting a cold while going after the bulls. To say the bugling has been spotty is pretty accurate. Not only from area to area, but day to day. Some areas of the forest have been closed off and they seem to be holding a pretty vocal bunch of elk. She's been up and down mountains and canyons and she passed on a few bulls. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she gets a break. I spoke with TJ this morning and he's heading up to her camp as we speak. Hopefully he brings in a little luck. Go get em guys!
