    Here we go

“Target animals for these contests..... and (in areas where they are not protected) wolves.” Is there any area in az where wolves are not protected or are they just spewing non sense and lies? I know some guys who’ll kill 4-5 coyotes in a weekend and not be in a contest, they won’t be banned. The last varmint contest I was in, the winner killed 3-4. We took third with 3. How will stopping contests stop the killing of predators?

New to this game, could use some advice

I’ve found Coues in areas that I thought would hold no deer. Experience and good judgment will tell you what type of hill side to glass. It seems for now you have the good judgment part down. Pick your unit, drive every road in it, then find the hillsides you want to glass on a map. Walk to or drive to them and set up for a few hours. Not seeing anything? Move a hundred yards in either direction, up down, side to side. Get different vantage points on the particular hillside or canyon your looking at. If you don’t glass anything, slowly walk thru and see what jumps out. It’ll give you an idea if that hill off that road/trail in that unit is good, bad, or just wrong for that time of year. Then got scout the thousands of other places the same way. You’ll find “your” spot eventually. Also, with all your other skills, it sounds like any hunter would be proud to team up with you to learn your bushcraft/camping skills while teaching you their hunting skills. I would.

    Wild Game Processing-Tucson

It’ll take about 2-3 hours to process the whole thing and in the freezer. Good knives, paper, vac sealer, and a grinder. I’m still using my hand grinder but looking to go electric.

AZGFD Dec 7th Commission Meeting - Education Funding

Just got an email today about buying you license from anywhere other that G&F I’ll post the A.R.S. They state that this new rule will allow full license fee to go to wildlife conservation. Doesn’t the price of our license go to the general fund? If so, how can they make this claim? A change in the law (A.R.S. § 17-338) allows dealers to “collect and retain a reasonable fee as determined by the license dealer in addition to the fee charged to issue the license or permit.” The law also eliminates the 5 percent commission that dealers currently deduct and keep from sales of licenses, tags or stamps. That means after Jan. 1, the dealers will transmit to AZGFD the full value of the license for each sale and the dealers will retain the convenience fee, if any. “The price that Arizona Game and Fish charges for hunting and fishing licenses, tags and stamps will remain the same as before,” said Doug Cummings, assistant director for support services. “Dealers will have the ability to charge a convenience fee, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they will. It will be up to each dealer whether or not they charge a fee.” Cummings pointed out that receiving the full monetary value of each license will benefit department programs, allowing more money to be put into wildlife conservation. Game and Fish is stipulating that dealers who charge a convenience fee must post the amount in an area clearly visible to customers.

I’ll pay the 20 bucks and spread the word about the good hunting does. But if anyone thinks that the g&f and other organizations will be able to stop a ban in the future is crazy!
