Redwing #608 is what I’ve been wearing for the past 8-10 years. They last me 2 or so years. I had a pair re soled once when the original wore out. Nothing but bad luck. First sole came off in a week, second lasted almost 8 months before it came off on a hunt in a field of cactus. Could be because I’m in oil and chemicals all day but either way I won’t ever re sole again.

Bleach will work but will burn the noses of any animal that has been used to using it. If you plan another lick anywhere within a mile of that area they may be “gun shy” of a new lick. Not to mention you don’t want to mess with the wild life. Best thing is to start a new one elsewhere. Next best, dig the ground out in a 5’ circle, 2’ down, third best, kill the guy and bury him. Sodium in his body will make a nice lick.

Which would you choose? And in stainless or titanium? Looking to build a ground up light weight rifle. I’m really wanting a 30 cal mag but might stick with a 6-6.5. There’s a few good actions I’ve looked at just not sure.
