Good Friend Passed Today While Hunting in 36B

+1! Hunting pictures would be a good tribute to the man. Or any pictures for that matter. Celebrate who he was and what he loved. -
Bullets and press sold. Pistol still available.
-
Need the cash but what do you got I may trade?
-
I never thought you were anti magnum, you don't really have a need for it in N.C. Do you? Out here it's a bit different. If you shoot it well and aren't afraid of it then its your best gun.

I'd love to own a magnum!! I have a few .22mags if that counts? My collection consists of mostly older obscure rounds inherited from family. My dads 06 that I shoot and my late uncles rem 600 .243 that I shoot still are under an inch MOA at 500 yards. I've been looking for a long magnum action that I can build a 300 win mag out of. Recoil doesn't bother me I'm a big guy. No break, just lots of powder and a bullet. I may turn my pops 06 into a 6.5 but can't bring myself to do it yet.

Unit 27 Prank
muledeerarea33? replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Love it!!! -
the larger ones in mexico are usually due to less pressure. AZ has some really big coues just alot harder to find. Mexico is also alot more expensive to hunt if you dont know someone there with a ranch.
-
yes but not where I want to see them.

Expecting Instant Gratification
muledeerarea33? replied to m77's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
A friend of mine had a late turkey tag a few weeks ago. He was hounding me with questions and what I couldn't answer myself, I found out for him. Mostly by looking on here and mostly due to a very nice member that pointed him in the right direction. That said, he made the 7 hour drive up north, saw several turkey the first day and shot a turkey on the second day!! a few weeks later I took him out quail hunting and we got into some birds and shot a few but it was way harder than he thought. He lucked out on the turkey hunt, saw tons of deer and thought thats how every hunt was going to be I tried to explain it's not always that easy. Even he likes to call B.S. on alot of the hunting shows -
Is a .243 Winchester an Ethical Elk Gun???
muledeerarea33? replied to CEI's topic in CEI Outdoors Blog
I'm no gun expert, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night! I'm gonna use my late uncles rem 600 in .243 until I kill a big game creature. The wife didn't get it done with her cow elk tag, I didn't get it done with my mulie tag but this year I'm hopin a coues goes down. If so, I'll be back to my pops '06 for the rest of them -
Long story short, hunted private property the last weekend of dove season, got rained on early in the a.m and left without picking up all our empties. I know the owner well so I called and told him I'd be back to clean up. Go back today and I'm picking up 2 3/4 hulls and 3 1-4 hulls. My rem 1100 is 2 3/4. And I'm pretty sure I bought only 2 3/4 shells. First year with a 12 gauge. Now... If I did get a box or so of 3 1/4 what damage will be done? Other than the obvious catastrophic failure.

I haven't really seen an issue with mulies the past 6 years or so I've lived down here. Lots of good bucks on camera, but never there when I hunt them haha. Whitetail however seem few and far between.
-
it's no a problem, it's an obsession. Have you doctor prescribe you 2elk tags and one whitetail tag (take with food) and good Booze!
-
When I try to use the computer today it say domain name coueswhitetail.com has expired? I'm on the mobile now with no issues.
-
haha yeah, I actually had to work this morning since I couldn't get on here
-
I lost it on my phone too? Just got it back on my phone I think?

Bedding + Free Float
muledeerarea33? replied to Flatlander's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
It is definetly worth it! Acra glass is what I've used, as well as standard 2 part epoxy. Make sure you buy a quality release agent or, if your balsy use a good cooking spray. (Never had a problem) usually you want to float the barell and bed an inch or two in front of the front lug, as well as the lug. I bed the rear tang and the bottom metal too. -
Chris Christie
muledeerarea33? replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I'm all for voting 3rd party and write in candidates but honestly, is there enough people who think that way? If you vote that way it equates to one less republican vote and helps the democrat win. I'm not saying the republican is the best candidate (whoever it is) but it's usually the lesser of two evils. -
keep it on ice and around 37 degrees during the day and hang at night if you dont have any predator issues. up to a month if your gonna be there that long as long as you keep bugs off it.
