Floating helps the natural harmonics of the barrel, meaning the wave as the bullet goes down the tube. The barrel not touching the stock is a good thing.

The Taurus I bought my mother is the large frame that will shoot the .454, I'm not saying its worthless (I shot a bison with a TC pistol in .454) I'm saying the idea of the gun is. In my opinion it's over rated, there are better revolvers (even in the Taurus line up) if your lookin for a home defense or snake gun. I liked the idea of it until I shot one. However I still wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of it.

hello guys. I have been a member for a while but havent been to the site in quite a few months. I have been extremely busy at work and with family but anyways I am glad to be back. and 25-06 I didnt fall off the face of the earth and I do appoligize for kinda dissapearing on you like I did. anyways. I have been reading a little on the 45/4.10 pistol I have been able to locate one made by magnum industries but the dang thing was as big as my head does anyone know of anyother manufacturers who have one in production or has anyone ever shot one? it seems like a pretty cool gun and I would love to own one I just would like to get some insite on it before rushing out to buy one. any help would be greatly appreiciated thanks Daniel

I10 to deming, then up to silver city and all the way to alpine, springerville and snowflake then down into show low. Less hills but a long drive, I'd run the 10 to the Florence exit then thru superior and up the salt river canyon. More hills but way faster.

Dang, that post is almost 7 yrs old (If I added right) I've since found out that the 45/410 combo is kinda worthless. I did some ballistic gel tests about a year ago with a Taurus I bought my mom for her birthday ( tried to talk her out of it but she just wanted one) don't remember what ammo I used but it shot 3 copper discs and some #2 shot I think? 10 yards and further I'd get 2 or 3 disks in the gel mold but no shot. The 45lc did ok but no better than any other pistol. Bird shot was horrible, I counted 3 bb's rattling in the milk jug at 10 yards and 4 holes in the jug. It's a fun gun to have if you "just want one" but not much purpose to it in my opinion.

Haha I don't have a clue what your talkin about but I love both my .243's and my 6mm rem. all have blood on them and all shoot whatever lead I decide to make for them!

Thanks Hughes, I'm thinking of heading up to the Winslow area a few times this summer and checking it out for the sept hunt, if it doesn't work out I'll still have 28 in nov and dec.

Work was slow today so I had a chance to do alot of research on the OTC elk tags. With 16 points this year I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm looking at area 28, I know where I've seen elk in 28 and also in 32 but........ Neither places are in an area I would want to pack out the meat, haha I would but bein fat and all it may just kill me. Has anyone else hunted that tag with success? If so, how hard was the hunt and how far was your pack out? I'm not looking for specific areas (unless you want to tell me?) just details on difficulties of you hike in and out. Like I said, I know where I've seen them, wondering if you've seen them in an easy area.

More torque in the 5.0 v10 vw than power stroke, that is if the vw had an actual frame and a decent trans behind it, engine for engine, the vw is better.

If you want to get down to brass tacks, the 5.0 in the vw tourage out pulls the power stroke, and coat of ownership( engine related is next to nothing) the new 3.0 they have is a beast!! Only prolbem is, it's not a full frame.

Dans paint and body does good work, and they have a bunch of awesome taxidermy animals in the office to look at.
