Not necessarily. I have lots of customers that hear noises or look at their oil gauge after a service. They haven’t paid a dam bit of attention to it for 6-12 months! But the first day-week they get it back from service...... they hear a “new” sound or problem and it’s the shops fault. Also people purposely leave out really bad stuff there vehicle does when coming in for a simple service. Only to try to blame the shop or tech for it after and get free stuff. Not saying this is what the op is doing at all!! Just saying it happens.

I’m surprised it drove 3-4 miles with no oil and no oil light coming on. You can bitch and complain your way up the management ladder and get some free stuff if you wanna go that route, works for some. Or just keep a record of it for the future. Toyota’s have tough engines. Had a corolla that burned oil so fast that it got a quart every tank of gas (every 3 days) oil light would come on after 2 quarts low but it only held 4. So glad when I totaled that car!
