    Fujinon 15x60 binoculars

I own a pair of these --- AWESOME glass! If you've had problems finding a pair of 15s that allow you to use comfortably because your eyes are set closer together, these are the REAL DEAL (swivel tighter than Swarovski non-HD 15s). Not the lightest to carry, but SOLID on a tripod. A great buy ...

    Mushrooming and Elk Scouting

No kidding --- mushrooms will be plentiful between now and September! For some excellent related links, Google > (1) Arizona Mushroom Club, (2) Arizona Mushroom Forum, (3) Arizona Mushrooms Primer (Sorry my previous links wouldn't work ...)

    Designated Dispersed Camping

Apache-Sitgreaves does NOT have an approved forest-wide "Motor Vehicle Use Map" yet, like those in use since 2011 in Kaibab and Coconino Forests. It's not unusual to have more specific regs in place for high-use areas (like the Rim lakes) ...

    WTB Kodiak Flexbow 10x14

Kodiak recommends spraying down your new tent with water before 1st-time use (shrinks the canvas slightly, closing up needle holes made when the tent was sewn together). The canvas is factory treated with a silicone-based product (I can touch inside walls without causing the tent to "weep" water drops like older conventional canvas tents do) --- no leaky!!!

    Pinon Nuts

I remember foraging for pinon nuts during my much younger years. Best part was when I'd crack open a handful using my teeth (not looked on favorably by my dentist), then eat a handful all at once. Sweet ...

  13. Here's why I brought up the topic. I bumped into this one this week up on the Rim --- crazy that something like this still exists in today's world! I've seen some pretty broad alligator junipers, but I've n-e-v-e-r seen one this tall!

    New life to old chalks

I can tell you put a lot of effort into those. Potassium permanganate is something that works really well (I've used it myself) --- you may want to try it next time: www.taxidermy.net/forum/index.php/topic,72467.0.html Here's a video showing the use of potassium permanganate (about 20 min. long): www.youtube.com/watch?v=reAoZQ7h7z8
