For the price of that scope I like it pretty well . Even though It wasnt perfect when I shot the squares, I was still impressed because ,I wasnt on sand bags and I didnt take much time between shots and it came back to zero as evidenced by my last 4 round group . I,m not sure if any comparably priced scopes would do that. Range was 110 yards , the first 5 shots were with scope on 8x all the rest were 12x . A couple of things I didnt particularly like were 1 that there was no room to slide the scope back or forth to adjust eye relief but it seems to be in the right spot ,so I guess thats o.k in this case .2 I had to use taller rings than neccessary to clear obj. bell because the power adj. ring woudnt clear. On the positive side the scope is clear, the dials are finger wheels with positve clicks , it came with rings and flip up scope covers and has rear focus that works well . I am going to put the rifle on sand bags and test it some more .

Does this mean that you cant accompany a friend or family member who is hunting unless you have a stl ?

I have used several different models all made by Harris . I like the longer models for hunting , the short ones work pretty good off a bench or table . Harris seems to be the most popular brand . Ive sometimes wondered if a monopod woudnt be almost as good in most hunting situations . In hurry up situations Ive used one leg of bipod to give me some support but better able to turn and follow game on the move .

I have had a little 9422 for about 30 yrs , it has a 2x7 bushnell with bdc . I would tell you about some of the shots Ive made with this setup , but you would nt believe me . Any way , I dont see anything wrong with putting a low power scope on your 30-30.

O.K. What happened here, some kind of grasshopper ? maybe beaver beetle ? I dont know . When I first saw this I thought someone with a pocket knife , but after looking closer decided it probaly wasnt a person that did this .

I was hoping the palmated branch on this plant was sign that I was going to find a coues buck with palmated antlers ,oh well, maybe this year , I have the same unit again .
-
Wow ! Thats a cool picture . Here is one of the plant where I found the beans , it is kind of strange .
-
Anybody know what this is ?

O.K. then , I will be donating a Vero Vellini rifle sling as a prize for the Coues Whitetail hunting contest .
-
How many like /use vero vellini slings. I have become spoiled to them because for me they really reduce felt weight , my problem is a heavy rifle will wear one out in about 1-2 weeks . Any better choices ?

Thats my Remchesnikov AKM-1674. When you're facing down a charge from one of these monsters , firepower is reassuring , at close range you can forget about accurracy and just put up a wall of lead .

Thats me on the right !!!!

uh yeah , what he said -
butler creek would be my second choice , its a good sling , it doesnt bounce as much and it will outlast the vero vellini

I havent hunted coues long enough to know how this applies to them but in my experiences hunting mule deer I would have to say yeah . If you glass up a mule deer and you turn to ask your buddy " Hey do think this buck is very big ?" ,well he isnt . When you spot a big one you say "Holy Cow! , man look at that BIG buck .

What's Your Projectile Launcher?

I'm currently in the process of putting her together for Nov. 7 36C . It 's my new mod 700 adl chambered for 7 rem mag . I haven't shot it yet but I can tell it needs a litte work on the trigger . I've been asked to field test a Yukon 4x12x40 scope. I put that scope on today and stripped the head on one the ring screws that came with it . It was pretty tight when it stripped so I will proceed with test but that was strike one . I know , I know , it's a low dollar scope , but I'm trying to save $$$ for a new pair of zeiss bino's and I get to test the scope for free . I'll get some pics soon and I'll post first results from the range . Thinking I might call her Ugly Betty . -

I got my new 700 adl 7 mag with 26 in. barrel at walmart for closeout price of $325.00 . Several companies make youth model rifles , for a lot of women these are a better fit . You might want to consider getting your GF one of those . Make sure you get one in something besides 243 or the unethical 7-08 . She might be able to shoot the 7 mag in hunting situations if you let her practice with smaller caliber and taught her proper form . -
I ran across a new remington 700 adl synthetic chambered in 7mm Rem Mag on sale at clearance price of $325.00 . I must say I was tempted . I dont know that I need it , but hey , I dont have a rem or a 7 mag . What do you all think ? Good deal or no ? Can you gain anything over premium factory ammo by handloading ?
-
Anybody know what the twist rate on this rifle would be or know how I can find out ? Model 700 adl synthetic 26 inch barrel 7mm rem mag .

Ouch , I hadn't checked ammo prices lately , $50+ for a box of the hornady's. I may have to learn to load .
