We live in a pretty neat place and are able to watch quite a bit of wildlife nearly every day. Today I saw the first sign of the boys showing interest in the girls. A coues spike wouldn't let a little doe alone. I watched him chase her for about 10min until they both disappeared.

Congrats. Now get him cut up and enjoy the holidays.

Drive up towards Patagonia and look for some Mearns. Without dogs it ought to keep you busy in some beautiful country.

I did the online hunter Ed course then bonus point field day last weekend in Tucson. It was a good experience overall. For some reason when I was looking to schedule a field day course, none showed up as available. I sent G&F an email, did some googling for courses, and then somehow a bunch of courses appeared. I completed the online and field day all in the same week. Now I am waiting for the completion card and info on becoming an instructor down here in Sierra Vista.

My experience with head shots is bang-flop without any head fur damage. .22lr on quite a few foxes and a few coyotes, and .223 on a few more coyotes.

They must be calling all the Mearns hunters refugees this year.... Politically correct or something like that. Any way to welcome hunters without pissing the antis off is great!

Where were you hunting? From what I hear, there area good numbers of Mearns in the Patagonia and Sonoita area. A friend has been finding coveys of 8-10 and quite a few more coveys than in years past.
