That is pretty neat. How long was the bear treed before it jumped around?
-
Nice. Very nice.

The land is very clearly posted, no question as to the status of this private property that does not allow trespassers and does not allow hunting. His methods of killing this deer are not about CHAMP. He broke the law and showed the kids what to do and what happens when nobody sees it.

Pretty neat.... Unless they got your dog or cat. What was the kill they were on? -
I've used an mtb and and Bob trailer for a while to get places a little quicker than walking.

Then it is. Bunny is his name. -
I feel your loss. Count your blessing for having great people in your life. Be that great person to others now.

Or figuring out where the deer are and going to them. Sitting all day when no deer are around is ok... Sometimes.

Insane!

No speculation. Guilty. The guy was cited for trespassing by the sheriff and it is unclear what AZGFD is pursuing, if anything. He changed his story about shooting it "over there and then it ran over here where I had to go on private land... I mean, private land, how could I know it is private." The guy is CHAMP and using it to shoot from the roadway which is clearly wrong. Without speculating too much on the validity of his CHAMP, he drives, although on expired plates, and apparently is ok enough to supervise or manage 3 kids while driving around searching for deer that hang out roadside. Jerk! From AZGFD: A Challenged Access/Mobility Permit (CHAMP) authorizes the holder with a severe permanent disability to take wildlife from a motor vehicle if it is off the roadway and the engine is off and a watercraft as long as the watercraft is not underway.

Very nice glass.

Huuuuuge! Congrats.

The dead deer photo is not mine, it is from a neighbor. Unfortunately, I did not even see the dead deer. The guy said he shot it with a bow although a "used" arrow was not found to my knowledge. Nobod actually saw him kill, however he did it. Nobody heard a gun shot. No witnesses until my neighbor drove up and saw the guy dragging the deer to his truck about 10y from the road. I do not know the status of the investigation.

Well, the buck on the right of the original pix was killed by one of the road hunters. AZGFD is investigating. I hope he does not get away with his fabricated story of "I shot it on the public land (point) over there, and he ran over here. I had to recover him." The fat guy can hardly walk and certainly could not have been out of his truck, up the hill, where he said he shot it. The kids that were with him will likely crack under questioning and put the fat poacher in his place. From what I know for now, its his word against others since nobody actually saw him kill the deer - perhaps nobody other than the kids with him.

Thank you for the laugh! I will take it under consideration.

Cool rifle. With a can and standard velocity ammo, it's like a cap gun but you still have the sonic crack. With subsonic ammo, it's like a cheap pellet gun - really nice!

With a CNS placed shot, a .223 might be ok within 300y or so. Is your AR barrel a 1:7 or 1:8 twist to stabilize a heavier bullet such as >75gr?
