I saved the wing bones from one of my turkeys, wanting to make calls out of them. Well, I just never found the time to make them, so I asked Ammon from Little Creek Calls if he would make them for me. He said he would, and I just got them back from him. They are awesome! I'm giving one to my friend Jorge for his birthday. Jorge was the one who got me into turkey hunting. We've had a lot of fun and many successes over the years. Thanks to Ammon for making them for me.

That's awesome! Glad you overcame all the bad weather and uncooperative birds so your daughter scored. Congratulations to you both!

you actually suck in on the calls to make all the calls a hen makes a lot like a trumpet call, takes some time to learn all the calls really well I call them the 750 hour calls, that's how long it takes to learn them well.Well TRKHNTR, something to be said about people answering for other peoples questions, not sure what, lol. Actually to make yelps with a wingbone call, you make a kissing sound with the tip of the call at or just inside your lips. Haven't tried sucking on it ala trumpet style, maybe later........

I finally got my first Mexican javelina mount back. This was one of two javelina I took on my Mexico coues hunt in 2012. It's the one on the left, the right one is my first ever javelina taken in 2004 in unit 24A. Link to original story: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/37747-my-mexico-double-double/

I picked up my 2014 Apache turkey today from Sven. He's in a gobbling while strutting pose, just like when he was coming through the woods to my call. Sven used a freeze dried head for realism, which has the small hairs on the head. He did a fantastic job! 3 different camps setting up this weekend to help youth learn to hunt turkeys! Totally free, including food, drinks, snacks, Thursday thru Sunday. Mentors will take out youths and their parent or guardian to help them learn turkey hunting. Class-like training in camp also. The camps are setting up in the White Mountains for units 1 and 27, Colcord Ridge for units 3C, 4A, 4B and 23, and Happy Jack for unit 6A. Go to the Youth Outdoors Unlimited website calendar for links on maps, registration and more info. Here's the link: http://www.youthoutdoorsunlimited.com/upcoming_events/ Mentors needed and camp help needed in all camps. Very rewarding experience helping these kids learn to hunt. Please consider volunteering to help out. Contact info on the link provided. Thank you, Tommy Martin aka Couestracker.

All hunters will be taken out by a mentor, even if they have a few hunters. It's nice of you to offer to help in camp. You'll have to be with your son out in the field, but while in camp I'm sure your offer to help will be appreciated. Talk to the camp host when you arrive. Good luck to your son!
