I have a holster for my Ruger Redhawk, I wonder if that'll work. I put a redot sight on my Redhawk, so I don't need the holster anymore.

I'm going to the junior's javelina camp organized by Youth Outdoors Unlimited in unit 20C. I'm going to help my friend Jorge's son on his first hunt to get a javelina. If Y.O.U. needs me to take out another youth to hunt, then he or she will join us on the hunt. Good luck to all the young hunters this weekend!

Sven Eberson at Wildlife Wings and Design is the best for birds. wildlifewings.com -
The best mountain lion work is by Dan Lee at Artist Touch Taxidermy, he's in Dewey, Az.

I like the double bull 3 legged stool with the back support. Plus I carry a butt pad and put it on the seat for extra padding.

I finally got my deer back from Dan Lee at Artist Touch Taxidermy in Dewey, Az. I got both these nice bucks on the same day, along with 2 javelina on another day on a hunting trip in Mexico. I entered the larger buck (124") and wrote a photo-essay about my adventure for the 2012 Coues Whitetail buck contest. Here's the link to the story: http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/37747-my-mexico-double-double/ The buck won 1st place for a typical Mexico deer and I won 1st place for my photo-essay! I was able to choose a discounted full mount donated by Dan as one of my 1st place prizes, and since I already knew Dan, had him mount the deer for me. He did a fantastic job! He's also mounting 1 of the javelina for me also. Those are the 2 javelina skulls in the pedestal cabinet. Jay Williams from Diamond J Furniture in Prescott Valley made the lighted pedestal cabinet for me and found the juniper branch for the top. I am super happy to have it back and on display! Here's a couple of pictures of my "Double-double" mount.

My Mexico adventure "Edited with pics finally"
Couestracker replied to Couestracker's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
Thanks everyone for the nice comments. A couple of things I realized I left out was that the first (and biggest) one I shot, and thought it was a boar at the time, turned out to be a sow. In fact all 3 were sows, but the first one was "well used" as her hair on top of her back by the rear end was gone as well as on the knees. Most of her teeth are gone as well. Wonder how many babies she produced over her life? Plus I always keep and clean the skulls. I have all skulls from ones I killed except the other two on this trip. Well, the one I had to finish off with my rifle was shot in the head and that one turned to dust. Anyway, my other point is the skull from the big sow is huge! I could tell is was big right after I killed it, but after I got home and compared it to my other ones, I bet it's nearly 30% bigger. I'm going to measure it and take a picture next to another one I have. I'll post that info is the javelina forum later.- 26 replies

My Mexico adventure "Edited with pics finally"
Couestracker replied to Couestracker's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Mexico
There's two pictures in the post that shows it. You can zoom in on it. We all eyeballed it in the field and couldn’t make sense out of it. The wound itself looks like it got gored by a antler in a fight, but it's real small, so it could have been from snagging a sharp partof a tree or maybe barbed wire. We left whatever it is stuck on the cape. I'm going to let my taxidermist remove it and get his thoughts. Then I can analyze it better. I'll report on it later in a separate post.- 26 replies
