  1. I found a camera while hunting near Tangle creek off Bloody Basin Road. It still seems to work, but its nothing fancy. It had film in it so I had it developed. The pictures were of a birthday party for a four year old boy with "Deuce" on his cake. The photos have a date stamp of 2-11-06. The quality isn't too good since the camera had been sitting outside (in a case) for over two years. I just thought I would post in case the photos were important to anyone.

    My Best Buck Ever

    Lance, you're right. Amung a few other mistakes on my first attempt, I didn't include H-4 measurements. Gross = 120 4/8, Net = 116 4/8.

    My Best Buck Ever

Thanks for all the nice comments. My unofficial amature scoring has it at 108". It has great symetry.
  5. I drew a unit 21 tag and had a great time although it was a hot hunt. Great spot with little pressure. November 1st, I didn't see anything all day until 2:00pm. This buck was bothering some does. Luckily I was already within range - 220 yards. I immediately sat down and took my shot. It was a tough haul two miles back to camp by myself, but well worth it.

    24B Success

I hunted in the Superstition Wilderness Area with the goal to get anything with eyeguards. I shot this 2x3 on my second day. It was a 2.5 mile hike out in the dark with a flashlight and gps after I quartered the deer.

How far off of the road?

Rembrant, Suppose you get your deer and take it to your camp. How do you keep the coyotes away from the fresh meat? Just curious.

    feild dressing the deer

I will be taking my 12 year old son on his first hunt this December in 24B. I can't wait. The pictures that I've seen on this site have been awesome. We took the hunter education course and they told us that for safety reasons, you shouldn't carry a deer over your shoulder. Dragging is better. Someone said that it helps tenderize the meat. I tend to disagree with this. I dragged a mule deer about 1/4 mile once and that side was beyond tender. I usually wrap the head and anters with orange tape and carry it over my shoulders. The terrain here is not like back east where you have lots of grass and snow, plus where I'm going, I might be three miles from my vehicle. But this year I am considering quartering in the field.
